Chapter 207 - 207 SIMILAR POLES REPELS

207 SIMILAR POLES REPELS

He didn't bother with pleasantries. Monsters like them had no need for such trivialities.

The woman, unshaken, introduced herself.

"I am Cruenna of the Temple of Hera," she said, her voice calm and measured. "Recently, some of our disciples disappeared in the fortress of Eoloth. I've come seeking information about their fate."

The Deacon of Death leaned forward his crimson eyes glittering. "We are aware of the incident," he said, his tone sharp.

"Your disciples infiltrated Eoloth, posing as rightful brides but were, in truth, assassins. Whatever mission your temple sought to accomplish failed. Eoloth discovered the ruse and dealt with them accordingly. They killed them all and even burned the bodies in disgust."

Cruenna tilted her head, her expression unreadable. "Is there any chance some of them remain alive?"

The Deacon of Death shook his head. "If Eoloth kept them alive, they would be in their dungeon. But that dungeon is empty."

Then he added after some thoughts, "We also have information that Gubana who has seldom left Eoloth brought many people and resources to look for something or people outside Eoloth. We don't know if he was chasing your disciples. Draw your own conclusions."

For a moment, Cruenna was silent, her mind weighing the words. Then she spoke, her voice cold and resolute. "Understood."

The Deacon of Death, satisfied, shifted the conversation. "Now, to our arrangement?"

Cruenna smiled faintly, a hand brushing through her hair. "Yes. As agreed, the Temple of Hera will provide six assassins to the Temple of Assassins. They will be under your command for six years, bound by contract of life and death."

"Good," the Deacon of Death said with a grim smile. "We provide the information. You provide the murderers. A fair exchange."

"There is one more matter," Cruenna added, her tone casual, though her words carried weight. "Do you have one in your ranks? A man by the name of Lilleo Gullee, also called the Demon of Gullee? Our Mother Hera has heard much about him."

The Deacon of Death nodded slowly not surprised by the enquiry. "Yes, he is with us. Lilleo ended the demon siege of Sodom City, though the methods he used remain a mystery, even to us."

Cruenna's smile deepened, an almost maternal warmth flickering in her eyes. "Such noble youth," she mused. "Mother Hera would like to offer him a reward for his valiant deeds. Do you think he would accept?"

The Deacon of Death chuckled softly, his voice laced with dark amusement. "If it's free, I'm certain he will."

[The Palace of Willows]

"Husband, how was your mission for the governor gone?" Yun-Yun asked, her voice soft yet curious.

"It's done. The bride was delivered and happily married," Leo replied with a nod.

"I heard you caused quite a stir there," Petunia chimed in, her tone laced with mischief.

Leo smirked and reached into his magic storage. "It's because of this."

He produced the Giga Tablet and then handed a crystal key to Yun-Yun.

"You found another part of the Giga Codex?" Yun-Yun exclaimed, her eyes widening with surprise.

"Wow! Should we study its magic right away?" Petunia asked eagerly.

Yun-Yun shook her head. "No, it doesn't work that way. Each time you access a new Giga Codex, even if they're different ones, you gain the same knowledge or enlightenment."

"Does that mean reading more tablets is pointless?" Leo asked, frowning slightly.

"Not exactly," Yun-Yun replied, pulling out the tablet they'd retrieved from Sodom's ruins. She had kept it for this very purpose.

"You held onto that tablet?" Petunia asked, surprised.

"Precisely. Watch," Yun-Yun said, placing both tablets side by side and inserting their respective keys.

Both Giga Codices lit up, their runes and intricate designs glowing as if alive. Yet, despite their simultaneous activation, the runes on each tablet appeared identical.

"Both tablets look exactly the same. We're not getting anything new from this," Petunia observed, frowning.

Yun-Yun attempted to merge the two tablets, but her efforts were in vain. "They won't fuse," she said, disappointment evident in her voice.

Leo opened his control panel, analyzing the magical codes emanating from both tablets. A sinking feeling settled over him as he realized, "Even their magic codes are identical."

"How do we merge the two tablets, then?" Petunia asked, puzzled.

"I've been trying to force a fusion, but there's a powerful energy pushing them apart," Yun-Yun explained in frustration.

"Like magnets with the same polarity repelling each other?" Petunia suggested thoughtfully.

Leo paused, considering her words. "You might be onto something," he said, his mind racing.

He carefully examined the energy flow within the tablets' magical codes. Sure enough, the energy in both tablets flowed in the same direction like running on the same pole.

"Similar Poles Repels."

"Can you change the polarity of one of the tablets?" Yun-Yun asked, her eyes lighting up with hope.

"I think I can try," Leo said. Without wasting time, he set to work, modifying the code of one tablet to reverse its flow of magic.

"Is it ready yet?" Petunia asked, watching intently.

"There are too many magic channels," Leo replied, his brow furrowed in concentration. "I have to reverse every single one."

Time passed as he meticulously altered the tablet's magic flow. Finally, with a faint hum, the two tablets began to shift.

"They're fusing!" Yun-Yun exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement.

"I reversed the energy flow in one tablet," Leo explained, a triumphant smile spreading across his face. "Opposites attract. Now they can merge."

"You're a genius," Petunia said, her admiration clear.

"If you hadn't reversed the flow of magic, I would never have been able to fuse the tablets," Yun-Yun added, looking at Leo with newfound respect.

Before their eyes, the two Giga Codices fused seamlessly into a larger, glowing tablet. Its brilliance intensified, radiating the mysteries of the world. It was no longer just two fragments—it had become a new codex, revealing secrets that neither tablet alone could have unlocked.

"This is the second tier of the Giga Codex?" Leo asked, intrigued.
