Chapter 113 - Free Therapy, starting now.

Kaguya opened her eyes slowly, blinking blearily as she regained consciousness.

What... happened?

She felt weak, weaker than ever before.

Even when she had first landed on Earth, before she had betrayed Isshiki and eaten the Fruit, she was stronger than this.

Slowly, she stood up, her legs shaking slightly.

She looked at her hands, they looked like they should, her skin pale as snow, everything seemingly in order.

But Kaguya knew it wasn't.

Her vision was worse than it should be, and it seemed her other senses were suffering from a similar degradation.

Her eyes narrowed, she focused Chakra into them, and breathed out in relief when she felt the Byakugan activate.

But that relief was short lived, as even her vision with the Byakugan was worse than it should be.

And for once in her life, she noticed that they drained Chakra, she knew intellectually that the Doujutsu did so, but it had always been such a small amount that it didn't matter.

Letting the enhanced vision fade, and closing her third eye.

Something had gone very wrong with the Kāma.

It wasn't like the Kāma not fully working was unexpected, what she had done was a gamble, a last-ditch attempt at survival.

But she had expected a patchwork body, there was not enough Chakra to fully convert the body, and the Kāma was not meant to be used like that in the first place.

But this?

As far as she could tell with her very limited senses, this transformation was from the ground up, first converting the body and then adding her Kekkei-Morō afterwards.

She felt...

Frustrated.

It could have been because the host body was unusual, it was a puppet created by a Divine being after all.

Maybe it was because of the damage inflicted to it prior, or something unknown.

Either way, she could not figure it out, since the transformation was so total, it left her with no clues on what exactly went wrong.

Still, she was alive, and not sealed.

Kaguya took a step forward, wobbling slightly as her balance shifted, and grabbed onto a nearby tree for support.

Her body felt sluggish, her muscles weak, so she began walking, slowly at first, but after a few minutes she had managed to regain control of her new body.

1 HOUR LATER

She was lost.

The feeling of frustration was quickly replaced by worry.

Because she while she did not need to eat before, or drink, now she felt a pressing hunger in her gut, and her throat felt parched.

The Byakugan helped little, only being able to see about 10 kilometers in front of her, far less than it used to.

And what she could see were trees, trees and more trees.

Would she have to hunt an animal?

Like a human?

She grimaced at the thought.

Maybe if she pushed her Byakugan, she would be able to find a settlement and... steal some food.

That made her feel embarrassed.

Here she was, reduced to a petty thief, like one of those humans.

2 HOURS LATER

Kaguya felt mortified.

Her clothes were soaked after being forced to cross a river with them on.

That she was forced to wear ill-fitting robes meant for a man.

It was uncomfortably tight around her chest, and long enough that it dragged against the ground.

And now it was wet.

There was a bright side to all this though.

Because she had finally found some civilization.

In the distance, Kaguya could see a plume of smoke rising up in the sky, out of range from her Byakugan's vision, so she did not know what exactly it was.

Still, that there was something filled her with relief.

She almost started running, but that was undignified.

So she walked at a brisk pace instead.

1 HOUR LATER

Kaguya stopped.

About 200 meters away from was a camp, a large tent filled with a variety of survival equipment, but more importantly, a single human sitting in front of a campfire.

Cooking a large piece of meat.

She swallowed involuntarily.

The next problem made itself clear the moment she first saw the human.

He was strong, his Chakra was dense, he had likely mastered it as well, making him dangerous to her current weakened form.

So how would she approach?

She took a deep breath and steeled herself, then walked forward once more, making sure she looked dignified.

***

Kaguya walked into the clearing, keeping her eyes focused on the person, trying to gauge his reaction.

His black eyes met hers for a second, before he raised an eyebrow and turned back to his fire.

Kaguya found herself frowning in irritation at being so blatantly dismissed by such a lowly creature.

But she pushed that down.

"Greetings." She said politely. "You will give me some food."

Perfect, short and succinct.

He looked at her again, raising both eyebrows this time.

Then he responded.

"Why should I give food to some weird horned three-eyed woman that just comes out of the woods and demands it from me?" He asked.

Her plans were shattered, destroyed, gone up in flames.

And she just realized that her Rinne-Sharingan... well, just normal Sharingan now, was not normal.

She quickly closed it, before glaring at him.

"Because... I require sustenance." She responded.

"Everyone requires sustenance, it's not my job to provide it to you." He countered easily.

Kaguya scowled in frustration.

"Tell ya what, if you give me your name, I'll let you have a piece of meat." He offered.

She felt a burst of hatred at a lowly thief demanding her name.

But as much as she hated it, she was not dumb enough to endanger herself over pride.

"Kaguya Ōtsutsuki." She introduced herself.

"Ah, see, that wasn't hard." He stood up from his place next to the campfire and bowed slightly. "My name is Osamu, future strongest man alive."

How arrogant.

And infuriating.

Using stolen strength and claiming it is your own, disgusting.

He raised an eyebrow when he saw her expression of irritation.

"You ok?" He asked.

"Yes." She said simply, not elaborating on how much she disliked this... man.

He shrugged.

"You can sit down while I finish cooking this." He told her. "Don't worry though, I have enough for both of us."

Kaguya eyed him wearily as she approached the fire.

This was a risk, but not one she could afford to not take.

The human went back to focusing on the meat above the flames, while Kaguya slowly lowered herself onto a nearby log.

As she sat, she realized how tired she was.

She hadn't ever felt like this before, so drained of energy and weary.

Her eyes half closed as she stared at the flickering flames.

"Hey!"

Kaguya blinked awake and turned her head towards Osamu.

"The meat's done, eat up." He told her, holding out a plate with a sizeable chunk of roasted flesh on it.

Hesitantly, she grabbed it, grimacing slightly as she noticed how dirty her hands were from walking through the forest.

But... there was nothing to be done about that, she would just have to endure the indignity until she had an opportunity to clean them.

Now how was she supposed to eat this?

Did... she just pick it up and bite into it?

Osamu picked up his own piece, bit off a chunk of flesh with ease and started chewing on it.

Kaguya hesitantly copied him, tearing off a small piece.

And immediately her taste buds exploded with flavor, before she knew what she was doing, she had shoved more into her mouth.

It was disgusting, warm juices coated her chin and dripped onto her robes.

And so a former goddess devoured the meat like a savage.

And a disguised god wondered if he had accidentally given her brain damage when he de-powered her.

Or was the food in ancient times that bad?
