Chapter 205 - Ch 205 : Reborn

Land of Fire Daimyo's Residence

Guy and Seirengoku, both guardian ninja, walked out from Lord Minamoto's sleeping quarters, facing the anxious ministers waiting outside.

Seirengoku said, "The Daimyo is unwell today. Any state affairs can be postponed for another day."

Hearing this, the ministers' faces filled with discontent.

One of them even directly questioned, "Is Princess Kushinada inside?"

Seirengoku sighed helplessly, "The Daimyo needs someone by his side to take care of him."

The ministers erupted in an uproar, and one couldn't hold back, shouting angrily, "She's a witch! An enchantress! She's the curse of the nation!"

Seirengoku had no choice but to order the guards to drag that person away.

The ministers' agitation was not without reason, as this was far from the first time this had happened.

The Daimyo had been neglecting state affairs for a long time, spending his days entirely with Princess Kushinada.

Seirengoku urged the others to leave.

Some reluctantly turned away, but a few remained, vowing to see the Daimyo no matter what.

Unable to resolve the situation, Seirengoku and Guy walked away.

Both being originally from Konoha, Guy had received much help from Seirengoku when he first arrived, making Seirengoku the person he had the best relationship with here.

Unable to hold back his curiosity, Guy asked, "Why is Lord Minamoto acting like this? Isn't handling state affairs his responsibility?"

In his mind, his village's Hokage was a very diligent person.

Seirengoku explained, "The Daimyo is different from the Hokage. The Hokage only manages the village, while the entire country belongs to the Daimyo. Naturally, the Daimyo can do whatever he pleases. These ministers can only advise him but cannot force him to do anything."

Guy found it difficult to comprehend.

No matter what, the Daimyo shouldn't completely ignore the affairs of the nation.

He had seen Princess Kushinada before.

Many praised her beauty, but to Guy, she was merely pretty.

In his eyes, beauty was a useless thing.

That was his perspective, but Seirengoku did not share it.

He could understand why the Daimyo was so captivated by the woman.

From the very first glance, Seirengoku had been deeply enchanted by Princess Kushinada's beauty.

She looked like a goddess who had descended to the mortal realm.

Seirengoku had never seen such a beautiful woman.

If he could win her favor, he would gladly die without regret.

But unfortunately, he was not the Daimyo.

She was a woman only the Daimyo could possess.

........

After sending Hakumen away, the matter of the Tenseigan was temporarily set aside, and Makoto no longer troubled himself over it daily.

In truth, few things ever really bothered him.

Everything in the village was progressing smoothly, and the daily administrative tasks were not particularly heavy, leaving him with plenty of free time.

Maruboshi Kosuke had gradually adapted to his role as the leader of the Jonin squad.

He now wore the standard green ninja combat uniform instead of carrying cooking utensils on missions as he used to.

This change gave him a slightly more commanding presence.

The reason he carried cooking utensils was that Maruboshi Kosuke was also a food ninja, a special subset of ninjas known for their exceptional cooking skills.

Having a food ninja on a mission who could prepare delicious meals was far more enjoyable than relying solely on ration pills.

However, since the concept of food ninjas conflicted with the traditional ninja ideology, there had been cases where missions failed because ninjas indulged in gourmet meals.

As a result, the status of food ninjas had gradually declined.

Under Makoto's strict leadership, Might Duy had finally become a Chunin.

Rumor had it that he was so engrossed in reading books day and night that he seemed almost possessed.

After successfully being promoted, Duy became more confident.

His son not only served as the Hokage's guard but also as the Daimyo's guardian ninja.

This made Duy boast about his son incessantly whenever he socialized with others.

The only downside was that he felt lonely without his son's company, spending his days running laps around the village while doing handstands by himself.

The Science and Crafts Department had also begun its operations.

Since its work was highly specialized, Makoto couldn't offer much advice but could only help set objectives.

The first goal was to develop a simple and portable short-range communication device.

In the original series, Kakashi and Naruto had used such communicators during missions, but they had not yet been developed at this point.

In the future, there would even be computers and many chakra-integrated electronic devices.

In Makoto's previous modern world, the mechas and high-tech weapons featured in sci-fi movies were all technically possible to replicate, at least on the surface.

The main issue was still the problem of energy.

Without a solution, a multi-ton metal hulk would need recharging after just a few steps.

In Marvel movies, Iron Man's arc reactor solved this issue.

With a reliable energy source for his suit, Iron Man could soar through the skies and traverse any terrain.

Of course, this was all "science fiction."

Controlled nuclear fusion was still a distant dream for modern humanity.

However, Makoto believed that this could be achievable in the world of Naruto, by using chakra as a form of energy.

The massive puppet Gundam that Kankuro fantasized about in the Infinite Tsukuyomi dream might not be entirely impossible and perhaps wouldn't be too far off in the future either.

At noon, Makoto visited Samui's place and ended up taking a nap there.

Yugito had now completely transformed into a docile kitten in front of Makoto.

She had fully resigned herself to the situation, mostly thanks to Samui's excellent "guidance."

The three girls each had their own distinct characteristics.

Samui was coldly elegant yet submissive, Mabui gentle but somewhat timid, and Yugito outwardly obedient but still carried a trace of wildness in her core.

Having three such women by his side, Makoto naturally felt deeply satisfied.

However, the flowers had not yet fully bloomed, and it wasn't the best time to pick them.

Aside from Samui and the others, Makoto would occasionally visit Kushina.

Kushina seemed to have grown accustomed to his presence.

Knowing that Makoto wouldn't let her go, she had become more cooperative each time he visited, no longer resisting as much as before.

She persistently pleaded with Makoto to release Minato, but how could Makoto ever grant her wish?

He merely kept painting grand illusions for her.

Apart from trusting him and trying every way to please him, Kushina had no other options.

As Makoto lay napping in Samui's bed, he was suddenly jolted awake by a powerful burst of chakra.

The chakra erupted in the village, its immense range likely alarming every ninja.

The chakra felt extremely familiar — it belonged to the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju!

"Lord Hokage?" Mabui, who was attending to him nearby, asked in confusion.

Makoto furrowed his brows, contemplated briefly, dressed, and flew directly toward the research facility.

The facility was in chaos, devastated by the close-range impact of the chakra burst.

Many instruments were destroyed.

On the ground lay three figures:

One was a White Zetsu, lifeless and cold.

The second was a red-haired young man.

The third was wrapped entirely in bandages with seals placed on them.

Makoto's eyes widened in shock.

"You..."

The White Zetsu was undoubtedly the sacrifice for Tobirama's Edo Tensei.

And this red-haired young man — was Tobirama!

His appearance, expression, and eyes were identical to Tobirama's, but his hair was as red as blood — a living person!

The red-haired youth sat on the ground, staring at his own hands and murmuring, "It's been a long time... the taste of life..."

He slowly stood up, looking at Makoto.

"What's wrong? Surprised by how I am now?"

Makoto's expression shifted slightly. "You actually created an entirely new body."

Tobirama responded calmly, "This is all based on Orochimaru's leftover techniques — it's not difficult."

That striking red hair was clearly the mark of the Uzumaki clan's bloodline.

Tobirama exhaled deeply, placing one hand on his neck as he gently twisted it.

"With White Zetsu as the foundation, combined with Senju and Uzumaki bloodlines, I am now reborn."

Zhen asked, "Why not include Uchiha?"

Tobirama replied, "I have no need for something that influences emotions and corrodes the mind."

Makoto's eyes gleamed. "You split yourself?"

Tobirama looked at the bandage-wrapped body lying on the ground.

"I improved Edo Tensei. I kept the part of my soul I split off and stored it in this body."

He formed a seal with one hand, sealing the body into a scroll.

"And how do you feel now compared to before?"

Tobirama stared at the scroll in his hand. "No different."

Makoto's expression flickered subtly.

Tobirama spoke slowly, "To be honest, I regret it a little. Splitting one's soul is a terrifying thing."

"You can sense your own incompleteness, yet at the same time, you feel that your personality and thinking are complete."

"In other words, the part of the soul I split off, though weak, has already become a complete individual. If given a body that it can freely control, it would be another version of me."

"This is different from shadow clone techniques. That version of me wouldn't submit to me and would not willingly be reabsorbed."

"So, this is a truly terrifying matter."

Makoto was silent for a long time before saying, "You're all lunatics."

Tobirama, however, said calmly, "I will find a way to repair the soul. My understanding of the human body and the soul is far inferior to Orochimaru's. I've merely been picking up the scraps of his work all along."
