Chase and I had left the mansion after having breakfast with our mom.
I can clearly remember how awkward and silent the atmosphere was during breakfast. What an unusual sight.
Though that didn't stop my mom from asking Chase and me where we were going after she noticed that we were leaving the house.
"Caden and I want to take a long stroll outside, mom, in order to fully digest the story you have told us about".
That was what Chase told our mom.
Our mom instantly felt guilty and even told us to hurry up and take a stroll.
That made me understand that she didn't have an idea that demons existed and had attacked the heart of the diamond-heart city. Because if she had known about that, she would not only prevent us from going out on a stroll, but she might go so far as to stop us from returning to school for the time being.
Our mother is an overprotective mom.
