Chapter 73 - Chapter 73 - I don't have many friends.

I'm back to posting chapters every day.

####

I arrived at the dungeon, and as I entered, I felt a little nervous because of what happened last time.

"Now I'm afraid the system will give me another troublesome mission like that one. Sometimes I feel like it wants to kill me."

I made it through the first, second, and third floors without any issues.

When I reached the fourth floor, I took a short break and continued killing monsters, collecting magic stones, and items. Since I didn't have a bag, I stored everything in my pockets. It was a bit uncomfortable, but not enough to affect my movements.

"I should've brought a bag. And I think it's better to go sell my magic stones soon — I've got too many stored up."

Not just magic stones, I've got a bunch of items too. But only low-level monster drops.

Tomorrow, I'll go back to farming Excelia and points in my training room and run a few tests using these items — drops from Goblins and Kobolds.

"Should I go a bit deeper?"

After spending a while on the fourth floor, I went down to the fifth, and then reached the sixth.

This was the floor where I nearly died because of that mission.

"I better be careful."

I moved cautiously through the sixth floor. I ran into some War Shadows and other monsters, but I defeated them easily using ice magic. It felt easier than last time.

I feel like if I got the same mission now, I could finish it much faster thanks to this sword.

The Ice Control skill is incredibly powerful.

More monsters kept appearing, but I kept defeating them effortlessly until I reached the path to the seventh floor.

As soon as I got there, I ran into some adventurers who were leaving the dungeon.

They saw me alone and asked a few questions, concerned about my safety, but I told them I was fine.

They looked at me with pity, like they were sure I was going to die.

I gave a weak laugh and headed to the seventh floor.

"I wonder if I'll find any interesting monsters around here."

####

The first thing I encountered on the seventh floor was a monster I'd never seen before — one I don't even remember hearing about.

It was a huge moth with a striking purple color.

As I approached, it flew toward me and started releasing some kind of powder.

Knowing it would be stupid to just stand there, I backed away and avoided the powder. At that moment, an ice spike shot down from the ceiling and pierced the moth right through the middle before it could react.

I could create that kind of thing from meters away — it's really powerful.

The moth died, and a new item dropped — a wing from the moth.

It was a bit larger than the usual items I'd seen before, so I wasn't sure how to carry it without a bag. In the end, I decided to leave it there. I can always come back and get it later.

There are plenty of other moths around anyway.

So I opened the map to take a look. With it open, I noticed there were even more ores on this floor than the previous ones.

"Should I take advantage of being here and collect some ores?"

I earn points, so I guess it's worth it.

While exploring the dungeon and collecting ores to earn points, I came across another monster I'd never seen before.

It was a rabbit that looked pretty harmless.

The only thing that seemed dangerous was the sharp horn on its head.

But I'm pretty sure that horn can't pierce this armor. I'll be fine.

Then more rabbits started to appear.

I thought it was just one.

"Well, this won't be a problem."

There were five rabbits in total. They made some extremely cute noises and jumped at me, but before they could hit me, their bodies froze in midair and fell to the ground.

When they hit the floor, they shattered into pieces and died.

"So it's possible to freeze weaker monsters like that... interesting."

Satisfied with my new ability, I kept moving forward while collecting more ores.

I spent a few hours on the seventh floor before deciding to head back.

When I exited the dungeon, I ran into some familiar faces.

"Eryk!" Tiona waved. "You were in the dungeon? Why didn't you say anything? I would've invited you to come with us!"

"Hahaha, I'm not strong enough to join a group like yours. Did you guys just leave the dungeon?"

"Yeah, we were inside for a few days handling some stuff. How about you? How did it go?"

"I was just testing out my new sword and got a bit carried away. I spent too much time in there. I'm heading back now to take care of a few things."

"I see. Isn't anyone else going to say anything? Just greet him already!" Tiona said to the others.

"Hey," Tione said, clearly tired — same with Bete.

"Hello. Good job," Ais said.

"Thanks," I replied, smiling at Ais.

"And what about the weapons and armor?" she asked. I was caught off guard for a moment, and Bete stepped forward.

"She's right. You said you'd show us your swords and armor, but we never heard from you again."

"Sorry about that. Things have been a bit hectic lately."

"What happened?" Tiona asked.

"Nothing major. Just a silly argument with Hephaestus and an unexpected issue in the dungeon. But it's all sorted now."

"You guys argued?" Tiona asked, shocked.

"Like I said, it's all resolved."

"All right, all right, enough chit-chat. We need to head back. Let's talk more later," Bete said. He was being surprisingly friendly.

"Sorry for bothering you. Good work, everyone," I said, and said my goodbyes.

They're nice people.

I should spend more time with them.

I don't really have many friends around here, do I?

Not even within my own Familia.
