Skyler's eyes flickered open.
He was dazed, yet he could still make out the familiar barrier surrounding the space—and the wooden bed he lay upon.
A familiar voice echoed beside him.
"You're finally awake?"
He parted his lips, but his throat was too dry to articulate anything. His entire body felt foreign—exhausted and aching.
Not to mention the weird weight on his head and the uncomfortably soft, warm, feathery blanket wrapped around him.
Skyler groaned and attempted to remove the blanket wrapped around him first and foremost, but stiffened when it moved on its own, as if it had a mind of its own.
"???"
Slowly, very slowly, he gazed down and, for the first time, saw the so-called blanket. He gasped. It wasn't a blanket at all! What was wrapping him were golden and azure wings—massive, feathery pairs of wings!
And if Skyler was feeling things right, they were actually growing out of his back!
