Chapter 48 - The Plan

"So this Blackhole, do they really have such a gun?" Barry questions.

Even though he is not afraid of this gun, he is worried about it being used by the wrong people. A weapon that can shoot at the speed of light is extremely dangerous. No amount of armor can save someone if they get hit by something like this.

"From what I have figured out, yes, they do. The weapon is developed by McCulloch Technologies," Batman says.

Barry is surprised by how much Batman has already figured out, but he expects nothing less from the Caped Crusader.

"So is Deadshot already in possession of this weapon?" Barry asks.

He is worried that Deadshot might use this on someone, and him not being able to save them.

Saving someone from a speeding bullet? Sure, it can be done very easily, but saving someone from a light projectile that travels at the speed of light it's hard. Plus, he still doesn't know what repercussions it will have for the world around him if he runs faster than the speed of light.

Sure, he won't be affected as he has become the speed force itself, but what about others? He doesn't know. He needs a much deeper understanding of his own powers.

"I am afraid so. I tried to intercept this deal, but I was too late. Deadshot got there before I did and killed the person delivering the weapon to him. I couldn't get any information from there," Batman says.

"So, how do we deal with this?" Barry asks. As smart as he is, he should leave the strategizing part to Batman.

"We wait," Batman says.

"He will resurface again and cause a commotion to lure you out; that is when we will make a move," Batman says.

"And how do we locate him? With a photon gun, he can take a shot from even farther than before," Barry says.

"Leave that to me," Batman says and tries to take his leave.

"Come on, you can't hide information from me when I am the one whose life is in danger," Barry says.

"When Deadshot tries to lure you out, go. I will take care of the rest," he says and jumps out of the window before disappearing into the darkness.

'He could have just used the door,' Barry thinks.

"I should relay the plan to the team," Barry says and runs to S.T.A.R. Labs.

"So that's it... That's the plan?" Cisco questions it as he finds the plan too simple.

"Ya, that's what he told me to do," Barry says.

"I don't like this. You said Deadshot has an Infrared Photon gun. Even you are not fast enough to dodge that. It's too dangerous," Caitlin says, worried.

"I have to do it or he might pull the same stunt as last time. I can't allow this lunatic assassin to go around threatening the city just to get at me," Barry says.

"I am with Caitlin. I don't trust this Batman," Dr. Wells finally speaks up. "And I believe you should keep your distance from him as well, Mr. Allen. From what I have heard, this man is dangerous and has quite a reputation back in his city.

He shouldn't be here in the first place," Dr. Wells says.

He has been on the edge of his wheelchair ever since Batman showed up because he knows just how notorious that man is. Even a slight mistake from him, and Batman will sniff it out and expose him.

"I know, but he also has a code that he lives by. I know I can trust him, and unless any of us can come up with a better plan, this is the only way," Barry says.

Team Flash looks at each other, trying to come up with a better plan, but none can think of any, forcing them to trust the plan the Caped Crusader has provided.

Barry knew that his team might not approve of this plan, but he knew better, and even though he is putting a little too much trust in Batman, he has a fail-safe. He is an immortal.

Even if he gets shot by this gun, he will not die. So he is willing to take this risk so that innocent people don't get dragged into this once again.

He can finally put this lunatic, Deadshot, behind bars.
