Selina poked her head out, eyeing the crowd outside the door with a half-smile, clearly amused.
"So many people came to see me? I'm flattered, really."
Joe hadn't expected Selina to open the door just then—it cut him off mid-sentence, so he decided not to continue.
James, on the other hand, felt a twinge of disappointment that Joe hadn't said anything. After all, while Joe and Selina might not know it, the Clark family did—Chairman Morris was Selina's biological father.
If even her real father rejected her, then even if the truth came out someday and Angelica's identity was exposed, Morris likely still wouldn't acknowledge Selina.
