Cheers thundered across the sky-high walls of the arena as Victor stood on the platform, breathing hard, sweat glistening on his forehead. His blade lowered slowly, the final blast of his combined Shadow Crescent and Dragon Breathing Art still lingering as crackling embers across the wrecked battleground.
Across from him, Elyra Vorn—S-Ranked, pride of the first years, a name that carried weight even outside the Awakened Academy—lay unconscious in the rubble. Her greenish skin was dirtied and bruised, crimson blood drying near her lips, and her chest rose and fell faintly.
The crowd didn't know what to do for a second.
And then they erupted.
"VICTOR! VICTOR! VICTOR!"
Reed was yelling from the stands, hands cupped to his mouth, "YOU BETTER HOLD THAT DAMN SWORD HIGH, BRO!"
Danny whooped next to him, eyes wide with disbelief. "He actually did it! Holy shit—he beat Elyra Vorn."
