After some time, Kelvin slowly lifted himself off her. Careful not to wake her, he climbed out of bed and walked to the bathroom. He turned on the tap and soaked a soft towel in warm water. The gentle steam floated in the air as he wrung it out, then made his way back to the bedroom.
Lily had drifted off to sleep, her face calm and peaceful. Her hair was spread across the pillow, and her skin still glowed with warmth. Kelvin knelt beside the bed and began to gently dab her skin with the warm towel, carefully wiping away any dampness. His touch was soft and full of care.
As the warm cloth brushed her skin, Lily stirred, slowly opening her eyes. When she saw Kelvin sitting beside her, cleaning her like a delicate treasure, she smiled sleepily.
"Oh baby," she said in a soft voice, "I think it's best I just take a bath."
