Chapter 346 - The Monster in the Mountain Village (3)

Rope looked at Whitley, who was waving towards him over there, and breathed a sigh of relief, though he didn't know how they had gotten over there safely eight times. But safe is good.

After giving Whitley and the others a gesture to be safe, Rope glanced at the rocky beach in front of him. Then he walked straight up.

Rope was specifically picking the places where the energy was more concentrated, that is, where the rocks were sharper to walk on. He just wanted to try the power of these stones.

Rope stepped on a stone, and then the shoes on his feet were instantly pierced.Rope felt the stinging pain coming from his feet, and then shook his head rather helplessly.

The power was indeed okay. But the damage to himself wasn't great. In fact, Rope's personal tolerance was very high right now. The threshold needed to knock him out of elementalization was high.

His seemingly pinched nose or whatever by Cynthia earlier was actually more of an amusement to Cynthia.

Hmm, Arcanine is different. He was literally able to bite Rope's head off.

Rope figured the rocks would do just enough for him to sharpen his mind. It's like the shiatsu board he saw in the original time. The difference being that it hurt a little more, since the stuff was sharper after all.

Rope didn't have any self-mutilating tendencies, though, so he simply put in a test run and just turned his lower body into flames and floated past this side of the room.

On the other side, Whitley and the others were also quite helpless.Rope this guy was simply cheating.

But Whitley just looked at it for a while, and suddenly felt that there was something not quite right.

The pain that even Rope didn't want to bear head-on...that old man definitely wasn't as simple as he made himself out to be.

After realizing this, Whitley was also a bit worried. Although she had faith in Rope, these things were not as simple as she thought. She didn't know what the old man's hidden agenda was.

Whitley was a bit uncertain for a while, and did not dare to act rashly.

He just glanced in the direction of the village, and quickly withdrew his eyes and looked at Rope, waiting for Rope to come over to discuss the next countermeasures.

Rope also came very quickly. Just past the area of the rocky beach, he recovered his entity to greet is three girls.

"Are all fine?"

All three nodded and Whitley said, "Sennogi hurt her foot a bit, but it's just a bloodstain, nothing serious."

Rope glanced at Sennogi's foot. Of course, all that could be seen was the newly replaced shoes. Nodding, he said, "If you look okay then it's not a big problem, I'll have Ms. Joy take a good look at it when we get back."

Rope glanced at Hoopa who nodded and said, "No problem, it's still possible to teleport here using isospace."

And so Rope let go of his heart. He knew Whitley wouldn't joke with him about such things. All people should not use their companion's life as a bargaining chip or a joke.

That's what Rope had taught Whitley, and Whitley wouldn't take it lightly.

"Did you guys encounter anything strange? How did you guys get here?"

Rope asked, still a little oddly open.

Whitley had gotten her thoughts together before she pulled you over. So she directly opened her mouth and told Rope all the things that the three of them had encountered during this period of time.

Rope subconsciously looked back at the two energy traces on the messy stone spread as she listened to them talking about that old man walked on the messy stone spread.

One was one that he had just walked over.

The other was the one that was already close to being fully restored.

"Rope did you find anything?"

Diana asked as she looked at Rope's expression and opened her mouth.

Sennogi was also looking at Rope with quite a bit of curiosity. but there was again some strange emotions hidden in her gaze.

"That old man definitely didn't know a safe path. He just led you guys ahead. Consumed the vast majority of the energy on the road so that you guys could walk so safely, as if you were walking on a normal rocky beach."

Speaking here, Rope also glared at Whitley without any good humor and said, "That part of the road ahead, it's purely because you're lucky that you didn't get your feet pierced through, or else it would be the three handicapped girls I'd be waiting for right now."

Whitley poked her tongue out towards Rope. There was a blush of shame on her face. She was also quite fearful while lamenting that she was indeed lucky. After all, judging from the results so far, the three of them were able to walk this far and it was only Sennogi's shoe that broke. That was simply a stroke of luck.

Rope walked over to Sennogi's side and looked at Sennogi's backpack, then said rather emotionally, "The special space backpacks can all be used as shields. Most of the time it won't be a problem to take a move or two from a wild Pokémon. Now that it's about to be scrapped after being stabbed by a rock, even though there's a reason for the special energy attribute, haven't you guys thought about it a little bit more? There really is enough carelessness."

Rope had no words to say to the three girls, and he knew even more that what he said was useless. Because all these dangers were bound to be faced. The girls were reckless. But if they really encountered a critical situation like that. Recklessness is always better than waiting for death.

So Rope didn't reprimand them, but instead looked towards the interior of the village.

"As for that old man you guys are talking about...I'm afraid his strength is very strong...although I'm not sure of the exact strength. But your Pokémon shouldn't be able to deal with him."

Rope was also feeling a toothache as he said this.

The picture style of this Pokémon world seemed to be a bit off. In the original, Red's physique was already quite powerful. Koji, on the other hand, was even better and was known as a Super True Rookie. But these are protagonists after all. And they weren't just any protagonists, so it was normal for them to have such a physique.

Rope himself let's not talk about it, but the old man in such a small mountain village had such a physique. One could only say that it was a big problem.

But Rope could also feel that the origin energy here could be said to be unusually powerful.

"What next?"

Sennogi looked at Rope and asked. She looked at the village not far away with some uneasiness. For some reason, she had an odd fear of that village.

Not only her, Diana's reaction to looking at the village over there was almost the same as Sennogi's as well.

Rope stroked Sennogi's head and comforted, "Don't worry, you're scared because you've both had close contact with the Origin. And the Origin energy in the village over there is a bit scary. That's why you guys are scared."

"It's not that you guys aren't brave. Rather, it is your bodies that are afraid."

When you gather your courage and prepare to face it, your greatest opponent is no longer the thing that scares you. Your opponent is yourself. Or the unconfident soul, or the fearful body.

Sennogi felt the warmth coming from the palm of Rope's hand and nodded earnestly as if he had been given some strength.

Rope smiled, then gave the village a deep look. Then he walked towards the interior of the village. The three girls followed closely behind. And Hoopa, still carrying Growlithe, broke off behind.

Here, his sensory abilities were further blocked. So he could only look around more vigilantly, fearing that something unexpected would happen.

This was Arceus's territory, so it wasn't uncommon for something that could threaten the gods to actually appear.

Hoopa only felt that these few months of traveling with Rope were much more exciting than the thousands and thousands of years he had spent alone in the world before.

In the past, he didn't have to be so careful. It was fine to just mindlessly go through. If one person couldn't get through, then he would bring the others along with him.

But now is also good. At least life is no longer so boring. Even if these things are over later. When he was sleeping and dreaming somewhere, he would have enough material.

And in the village. The old man felt the scorching waveguide over there and also looked grim.

The guest that came this time, I'm afraid it's only not that good. It's just that I don't know whether the visitor is a good or evil guest. So after pondering for a while, the old man got up and walked towards the idol.

Whatever it is, why don't you pray a prayer yourself first. The gods will give themselves guidance!

Arceus is above!

Rope looked at the buildings in front of him and was also once again struck by how ancient these buildings were. It really was full of primitive meaning and beauty. The aesthetics of the ancients were still very powerful. Simple buildings often carried a rugged beauty.

The village wasn't too big, and Rope and the others quickly reached the center of the village. Here was a small square, and in the center of the square stood a two-man tall idol.

Rope naturally recognized it as the idol of Arceus as soon as he laid eyes on it.

Sennogi, on the other hand, had a complicated look on his face as he looked at the idol. This was a god that they had believed in since ancient times, and legend had it that this god had once saved their clan from fire and water, but when they were really facing a catastrophic disaster, this god had stood on high and watched them perish.

She didn't know how to treat the god in front of her.

Whether to loathe Him and rebuke Him, or to fall on her knees before Him, crying and wailing.

Of course there were gods in this world, but what kind of guy was the god they knew. She didn't know. They didn't know.

Diana, on the other hand, frowned tightly; it wasn't as if they hadn't seen idols before. They had seen idols with their own eyes in Aohane's village, but the one in front of her gave her a special attraction.

It was as if the idol was speaking to her.

It was as if her eyes were held by the idol, and she stared at it intently, with nothing else in her mind, just the idol.

But soon she felt stagnant, as if she was suddenly being tugged by a hand in the middle of a slow descent.

Once she looked back again, she saw Rope's stern face, and his hand gripping her arm tightly.

Taking another look at herself. The self that was originally behind Rope, didn't know when she had already walked in front of Rope.

She had no memory of any of these things.

"Rope, I-"

"I know what's going on, you go behind me first."

Rope directly interrupted Diana. He wasn't stupid, of course he could tell at a glance that there was something wrong with this idol. What Rope and the others had seen before in Aohane's village was an idol that had lost its divine power.

In Eiichi's village, the idol with divine power hadn't been seen by anyone else. So what Rope is guessing now is probably because of the mutual attraction between divine powers.

The fact that Diana's body had the Origin divine power in it was something they had known in their hearts before.

Then again, Rope this herself didn't do anything of her own accord. The greatest suspicion was actively sent to Rope's side, which really had to be said to be the world's favor.

Of course, this situation was also, understandable. Right now in this world, in simple words, it was 'Old me is scared! You come and save old me!' .

Rope is his savior. So it would definitely do what it could to give Rope help.

But Rope is still confused, there are a lot of things he hasn't figured out, which can only be said because there are outsiders like Rope in this world. And it is possible that such an outsider is not under its control. It's even possible that it's out of its control.

In short, when the great powers in the void started to act like demons, a sub-world like this could only tremble.

If you don't believe me, just ask its neighbor, the parallel world where Red was.

"You shouldn't have stopped her."

The old man's voice came out from the other end of the square, opposite of Rope and the others.

Rope and the others looked towards the old man with a point of caution in their expressions.

The old man's beard and hair were all white, but his figure was still upright, and he was walking steadily like this, but he gave people a real sense of power.

The so-called dragon walk was nothing more than that.

"She is Arceus's dependent, and was born to be thrown into Arceus's embrace."

The old man said this with an incomparably pious expression, and that expression and tone of voice didn't even look like he was talking to Rope, but like he was facing his god directly.

Rope, however, shook his head and said, "I'm not sure if face Arceus is dead or alive right now, so it's best if you don't give me any trouble."

Rope's eyes were glued to the old man the entire time he said this. He felt a headache even as he watched the bluish-purple energy wrap around the old man's body.

"And, I never thought that the monster in this village would turn out to really be you."

The old man heard Rope's words but didn't say anything of his own. Instead, he directly said to Rope, "All of this is a gift from my Lord, so what makes you think that my Lord no longer exists?"

Rope, of course, would not evade such a question; such a rabble-rouser might be able to bring a different perspective to the table.

He pointed at the idol over there and asked dryly, "Since this is your belief, then tell me who is the real Arceus, your god, or that alpaca."

The old man lapsed into silence for a moment, not answering Rope's question.

Rope went on to ask, "And, where exactly is Azure Flute, and is that alpaca, really still alive? If He is or, what about... your god?"
