Chapter 337 - Visiting Parents

"Rope, do you want to... go see Grandma?"

Cynthia said gently. Of course there was a hint of imperiousness in her tone.

The corners of Rope's mouth twitched, then she nodded and said, "I'll go back."

"Tomorrow then, I told Grandma you were already in Celestic Town..."

Rope sucked in a breath. Then nodded stiffly anyway.

"Aren't you coming back?"

Rope asked hurriedly.

Cynthia's helpless voice came from the other end of the phone, "Can't come back, there's still a lot of work here. And because Red appeared, so many things need to be rearranged."

Rope didn't have much else to say at that. After all, the situation was completely understandable. Facing Red...no amount of caution was too much. Now was definitely not the time for Cynthia, the Regional Champion, to come running in to deal with something as trivial as her boyfriend meeting his parents, either.

"Say Rope why are you so scared of my grandmother?"

Cynthia was puzzled. It was logical that Rope's personality was very pleasing to older people. Even the even more eccentric Professor Rowan was able to show a smiling face when facing Rope. But the current situation was that Rope was afraid of Professor Carolina...

Which left Cynthia wondering.

Rope actually knew that she didn't need to be afraid of Professor Carolina at all, after all, we were all relatives. After all, we are all relatives. He is also considered Professor Carolina's grandson. And also Professor Carolina has recognized.

After all, when listening to Professor Oak talk about this matter, Professor Carolina is also in the inside of the push and pull one.

But I don't know, why Rope just felt that he had stolen from others or had to avoid them. Otherwise you're too arrogant.

"Anyway, I'll make the trip. Say, what does Grandma like?"

Rope was a bit helpless, but he also knew that he would have to go through these things sooner or later. Things like meeting parents in that world couldn't be run away. It's just that if he meets his parents in this world, he will meet them earlier. If it was in the original world, the 22 year old Rope was not yet old enough to get married.

But in this world, Rope was an older man and Cynthia was an older woman.

That sounds pretty brutal to me. It's a good thing that the average age of marriage in the training family is relatively late. Even the vast majority of strong men were even still single in their forties.

Even though there was never a lack of the opposite sex surrounding them. But the vast majority of the opposite sex could not catch their attention. Human energy was limited. Not every trainer who devotes himself to breeding and training Pokémon has the time to fall in love.

In a sense, the average genius might lose the right to fall in love casually. Because that right only belongs to people without pursuits and true geniuses.

Like Wallace, Leon, Cynthia, Red, Rope and the rest of the Elite Four champions...

People who are busy in their careers don't have much time to think about their love.

"Grandma loves tea, and precious old documents, and it's true that you remember to cook for her." Cynthia instructed, "Grandma still wants to taste your cooking."

Saying this, Cynthia changed her words and spoke, "That said, it's really the first time you've come to the door ugh."

The corner of Rope's mouth twitched again.

That's for sure, seriously, he and Cynthia have known each other for a year. But even in that year the two of them had been together a lot. After all, they couldn't stop working on their respective missions.

If there hadn't been all sorts of crises, Rope might have been able to make himself at home, following Cynthia around and taking care of her, then yanking Cynthia from her position as Champion when he was ready to get married. Then let her get some rest and have a baby along the way.

But for now it looked like such a day would have to continue to be put off is all.

"You haven't been on the doorstep yet either. Don't think that getting along with Daisy and the girls won't make you nervous by then. When the time comes for you to come to the door, Granny Kikuko is back in!"

Rope warned 'viciously'.

But such a reminder did cause Cynthia to panic for a moment. If you were to say who among the existing League Four Elite Four and Champions was the worst to get along with, then Granny Agatha would have to be at the top of the list...

Ghost-type trainers were known for being erratic in their own right, and when this Ghost-type trainer was old, it was even more frightening. And if this old Ghost trainer is still single...

The buffs are full...

This is Granny Agatha, the older woman in the League who puts a lot of people on the spot.

"I...I'll definitely be recognized when the time comes!"

Rope, on the other hand, waved her hand indifferently, "Me being in a relationship with you doesn't have much to do with them, it's best if they approve, it's fine if they don't. I'm not going to give up on you, and that's enough."

Rope wasn't a fool, and if you threw out the other off-site factors, then Cynthia already had the approval of all the elders. As for the Oak family's reaction...what could they do. Other than that, no one can really think Celestic Town is a vegetarian...this is the same place that produced a champion and a Dragon Elite Four. Such a distinction is arguably second only to Pallet Town.

If Rope and Daisy were a satisfying internal digestion, then Rope and Cynthia were a satisfying political marriage.

And when this political marriage is actually still a free-for-all, then this just doesn't get any more perfect...

Which is why not all the Oak's are in favor of Rope marrying Daisy. If Rope was marrying someone else, even if it was Elesa or Nessa it was strongly discouraged.

Though it must be invalid.

But to marry Cynthia would surely be recognized by many.

The Oak family, no matter how warm it is, is still a cold family concept. They are bound to do anything that benefits the family and doesn't break their boundaries.

Unfortunately...no family's bottom line was ever too high.

"Well, without further ado, I'm going to visit Grandma tomorrow. I'll try to think of something to take with me is true."

Rope still had a headache over the matter of what he should give as a gift. After all, if you couldn't get away with something like a meeting, a great gift would definitely help is all.

"Well, you don't really have to be too picky. Grandma won't give you a hard time."

Cynthia was also relieved Rope, her own grandmother is definitely clear, Rope's gift what she will not be very concerned about that is it.

Rope didn't feel the same way, all those who said they couldn't care less about precious gifts. It must be because the gifts aren't precious enough.

"Don't worry, I'm not a kid anymore, I can handle it myself."

Rope hung up even after saying that, and then fell into deep thought.

Hoopa on the other side had listened to the entire discussion between the young couple, and while chewing on the tree fruits that Roserade had prepared and picked herself from the backyard, she opened her mouth and asked, "What's wrong with worrying about what to bring as a gift?"

It was worth mentioning that the fruit trees planted in the backyard were all picked from the orchard of that great thief Kumas who had really become a tree fruit celebrity. The quality was so good that even Rope thought that if this guy grew tree fruits properly, he would be able to make a good living and even become the guest of honor of some energy cube manufacturers.

It wasn't impossible to even become a guest of honor in some cultivated homes.

It was just a shame...there were no ifs.

Rope nodded. It would be a lie to say this wasn't a guilty pleasure. Not all gifts were appropriate. You'd have to say that Rope was a guy who had a ridiculous amount of precious things on hand. Without mentioning anything else, if Professor Carolina liked those precious documents, Rope's side could pull out a large pile of them with his hands.

These documents are all precious and isolated. But they were all piled up unattended in the Shallow Talk Institute. After all, Rope's recently scheduled tasks were heavy enough.

These would wait until there was time.

But the problem was that if one gave Professor Carolina these documents that could yield not-so-small results with a little bit of organization, would Professor Carolina really agree?

Rope was a little uncertain for a moment.

But tea words, Rope was a bit of a thought at that time.

"Hoopa, do you know where Xerneas is sleeping?"

Rope asked as he opened his mouth.

"Know, going? Going to do what?"

Hoopa nodded, then spoke up again with some confusion. After all, he couldn't figure out what Rope wanted with the X-God.

"She's still asleep, huh?"

Rope reconfirmed.

"Ipeltar hasn't woken up yet, and she shouldn't be awake yet either. Those two guys are really in love with each other. When one gets up, the other one definitely stays up. As soon as they wake up, they fight, and when they're done fighting, one turns into the Cocoon of Destruction and the other into the Tree of Life."

Hoopa knew that the two of them represented the balance of life and death. But not being able to hold it like that was really kind of bullshit.

"That's good, I was afraid she wasn't a tree."

Rope got a plan-through look on his face.Hoopa instantly realized something wasn't quite right.

"You...you wouldn't..."

"Cut the crap and take me there first."

Rope hurriedly urged. You know that time is precious now.

Hoopa had a guess and mentally mourned Xerneas for a moment, then silently opened the interdimensional cave, which was across from a rather large area of forest.

Rope and Hoopa walked inside. Within a few steps forward, they saw the huge, life-emitting Tree of Life.

Rope looked at the tree rather admiringly, then slowly walked forward.

Hoopa watched Rope's movements, and could only be lamenting Rope's inappropriate son, and then thinking in passing about letting Rope glean more. This thing was really quite precious too.

Rope didn't use his ability instead he climbed up to the Tree of Life bit by bit, picked a leaf and looked at it, then put it in his own mouth and surrendered to chewing.

Rope nodded. The stuff was really good. It had a lot of life energy in it. Though it wasn't much for Rope. But for a normal human, it was definitely a harmless tonic. Though it was very precious that was all.

So Rope started to pick the young leaves from the top and collected them.

Hoopa lamented that it was Rope who was playing the fancy game! Everyone knew that the leaves of Xerneas were good, but it never occurred to everyone that someone would actually dare to pick them.

After all, we're all gods, you know, and it's going to be awkward when we all meet again.

You have to realize that Xerneas even helped you out when she met up with you not too long ago ah pro!

She's a friend! Now you're just pulling her hair out!

"Rope you move faster, more griping, we can't gripe anymore when she wakes up later!"

Hoopa whispered urgently.

It was obvious that Hoopa was an old nothings guy.

Rope moved quickly as well, and finished stealing in no time.

"Go go go! I feel like Xerneas is going to wake up."

Rope's face wasn't flustered, but he was still running fast, and he looked like a repeat offender.

Hoopa didn't know what else the guy had stolen, but now wasn't the time for questions.

"Give me half!"

Hoopa decisively lionized him.

The Rope was dumbfounded.

"You're making a deal with me now ????"

Hoopa had a haughty look on his face, "Split me in half."

"No what's the point of you wanting this! You don't even like tea I remember!"

"Give me half!"

"Don't you be unreasonable ow! I climbed up there and picked it!"

"Give me half."

Rope looked at the Tree of Life behind him which had started to emit a revitalizing glow, took a deep breath, pointed at Hoopa's nose and said, "You're fine, count on you, half is half!"

After saying that, Hoopa immediately opened the Interdimensional Cave. Just kidding, he didn't want to stay here now either okay...something would go terribly wrong.

So the two quickly ran back to the villa. And Hoopa also thoughtfully disrupted the nearby spatial fluctuations, so that Xerneas would have no way to check even if he wanted to.

A few moments later, the Tree of Life disappeared, and a deer waiting for long horns like a canopy appeared in its place.

She looked around with some confusion, not seeing anything else for a moment.

[Strange, just now it clearly felt like something was pulling out my fur].

Xerneas thought in confusion. Of course a god wouldn't have an illusion or anything. Since she felt someone pulling her fur, it must be the truth.

The disturbed space around her could also indicate that. But...who was the one who did it?

Xerneas didn't even have to think about it to know who it was.

Rope looked at Hoopa, who had parted with half of the leaves in front of him, and then the whole demon got all smug, and a treacherous smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

Joke. The ability to disrupt space and slip away at any time was unique in Legendary Pokémon. Plus, Hoopa had never done anything good in the first place, so who would Xerneas think did it in the end?

Rope looked at Hoopa, who still didn't know that he had taken a big black pot for Rope, and smiled lightly.

To be calm people can't be too arrogant, huh, hahaha!

But Rope wasn't too arrogant for too long, like he said before, time is precious, even with the help of the other Pokémon, turning these leaves into tea isn't that simple.
