"It's you guys, meow!" Meowth said gratefully. "Thanks for saving me, meow! But, by the way, what are you two doing here, meow?"
Teddiursa chirped, "Teddi, Teddi!"
Meowth blinked in confusion. "What? You mean there's a mysterious Pokémon around here that can give people nightmares, and you want to meet it, meow?"
"Teddi!" Teddiursa nodded eagerly.
Meowth sweat-dropped.
He let out a slow breath and muttered, "You guys sure are laid-back. So why don't you go and find it, meow?"
Teddiursa simply blinked, then lifted the little camera hanging around its neck. It aimed it at Meowth, capturing both him and the magnificent Tower of Time and Space behind him.
With a crisp click, the camera snapped a photo.
Teddiursa pulled out the instant photo and studied it, looking very pleased with the result. "Teddi!"
Now it could share this beautiful memory with Naoki!
Hearing Teddiursa mention Naoki, Meowth immediately recalled the terrifying rancher they had once encountered, the one who used a whole team of Dragonite to deliver goods.
Anyone capable of commanding that many Dragonite must have been a serious big shot.
Thankfully, they hadn't dared to mess with him at the time. Meowth still remembered how he, Jessie, and James had hurried to report their findings to Boss Giovanni.
Back then, Giovanni, whose face was hidden as he spoke from behind his massive desk, had said calmly:
"I understand. For now, don't provoke that person."
Back then, the trio had been utterly baffled. From the boss's tone, it almost seemed like he knew that mysterious person.
They had tried to ask more questions, but Giovanni simply brushed them off, instructing them to focus on their own missions.
Meowth let out a slow sigh. Watching Teddiursa and Mew happily taking in the beautiful scenery around them, he felt a little pang of sadness for reasons he couldn't quite explain.
But there wasn't anything he could do at the moment. So, Meowth decided to sit quietly and enjoy the view of the town alongside Teddiursa and Mew.
Time ticked by slowly, minute after minute.
During this peaceful moment, Meowth suddenly noticed a disturbance stirring in the town below.
One by one, Pokémon across the streets collapsed to the ground. Their spirits, shimmering and translucent, separated from their bodies and began to drift through the town in ghostly forms.
Their physical bodies were quickly gathered and rushed to the Pokémon Center.
Meowth stared at the strange sight, wide-eyed. "What in the world is happening, meow?"
Mew and Teddiursa also noticed the strange phenomenon. A heavy, unsettling feeling filled the air.
At that moment, Teddiursa spotted something even more alarming—the space around the town had begun to warp dramatically!
Large patches of dense mist had silently enveloped Alamos Town, sealing it off from the outside world.
"Teddi, Teddi!" Teddiursa cried out, pointing upward.
Meowth and Mew followed Teddiursa's gaze.
The once clear blue sky was now smothered by a heavy, swirling fog.
No… this wasn't just fog.
Mew and Meowth cast their eyes further into the distance.
Beyond the mist, a dark and mysterious dimension loomed.
Within the fog, chaotic bolts of space energy flickered like wild ball lightning.
Alamos Town had been drawn into a rift in space itself!
Seeing this unimaginable sight, Meowth was completely stunned. "What... what on earth is happening, meow?!"
Mew's expression grew serious, as if realizing something critical.
Mew lifted its head, a puzzled look crossing its face. A wave of powerful psychic energy radiated outward from its small body, scanning the strange disturbances around them.
In the next instant, Meowth's eyes widened as he spotted a mysterious figure floating above the Tower of Time and Space!
It was a Pokémon with a pale purple body, a slender form, two animal-like legs, and dark violet markings streaking across its body.
"Mew..."
Sensing Mew's alarm, Teddiursa and Mewoth also turned their eyes upward, following his gaze.
There, they saw it too, the strange Pokémon surrounded by an eerie purple glow.
"What kind of Pokémon is that, meow?" Meowth whispered, both in awe and fear.
Teddiursa shook his head. "Teddi..."
Thinking quickly, Teddiursa figured Naoki might know the answer. He pulled out his Rotom Phone, pointed it toward the mysterious Pokémon, and snapped a photo.
However, as the picture processed, a notification popped up on the screen:
"Signal interrupted. Network connection failed. Message not sent!"
"Teddi?!" Teddiursa blinked in surprise.
Just then, a loud, furious shout echoed from the base of the Tower of Time and Space.
"Get out!"
Mew, Teddiursa, and Meowth looked down in shock.
Flying up rapidly was a Darkrai, its form sleek and menacing. With a fierce cry, Darkrai surged toward the mysterious purple Pokémon, launching a powerful attack straight at it.
The very next second, the mysterious Pokémon's crimson eyes snapped open, glaring in fury at Darkrai's interruption. It raised its arms in anger, summoning a massive, glowing dragon claw, and charged straight at Darkrai.
Darkrai didn't back down. It narrowed its eyes and growled a warning, "Get out!"
"Boom!"
The giant dragon claw swept past Darkrai, missing by mere inches. In retaliation, Darkrai quickly gathered a swirling ball of deep purple energy—Shadow Ball—and hurled it at the mysterious Pokémon.
But a radiant purple shield enveloped the Pokémon, blocking the Shadow Ball effortlessly.
"That's... the legendary Pokémon that controls space—Palkia?!" Ash exclaimed, frowning as he and his friends looked up at the fierce battle unfolding above the Tower of Time and Space.
In the crowd, a man wearing glasses tapped furiously on a laptop keyboard. The screen displayed a detailed map of the town and its current situation.
"Palkia has trapped this town inside an alternate dimension," he explained urgently. "Because of that, Darkrai's nightmare powers have also been frozen here, and now the nightmares are manifesting into reality within this unstable space."
Before he could finish, the sky above them shifted once again.
Massive meteor-like projectiles rained down from the sky, crashing into the battlefield and engulfing both Palkia and Darkrai.
Ash immediately recognized the move.
"That's... Meteor Shower!"
At the tail end of the meteor shower, a huge, imposing blue figure burst forth from the edge of the dimensional rift, soaring into the fray.
"That's the legendary Pokémon that governs time—Dialga," the man with glasses said grimly. "Just as Giratina warned... now I understand everything."
"Dialga and Palkia clashed in the dimensional rift. Wounded, Palkia fled here and sealed this town inside a pocket dimension to hide from Dialga."
"But the two should never have crossed paths in the first place. Their meeting distorted both time and space. Their rage enveloped the town... and now... everything is beginning to collapse."
The man's voice was heavy, filled with a sense of looming dread.
Ash and the others stood frozen in shock.
Everywhere they looked, purple light was beginning to engulf the buildings.
The clash between Palkia and Dialga was tearing the entire town apart!
...
Meanwhile, in the Reverse World.
Giratina lounged lazily atop the Flower Garden Island, enjoying the sunlight, munching on plump, juicy apples, and browsing the internet on a Rotom Phone.
Suddenly, a deep rumbling echoed across the void.
Thick mist began to rise around the floating islands.
Giratina's eyes snapped open. It looked up and saw the Flower Garden Islands, which Naoki had painstakingly built for it, beginning to crumble!
What's going on?! Giratina was stunned.
It frowned deeply, focusing its senses, and quickly located the culprits.
Through the distorted reflections of the Reverse World, it spotted Dialga and Palkia locked in a brutal battle.
'Those two again!'
Fury ignited within Giratina, burning away all calm.
...
It was a brand-new morning in the Paldea region.
Today marked the second day of Professor Oak's summer camp.
Naoki, Professor Oak, and Gary were leading the children into the mountains to visit the shrine—a sacred place where the locals honored the King of Bountiful Harvests.
"This shrine was built to worship the King of Bountiful Harvests!" Professor Oak said warmly. "Now then, has anyone here heard the legend of the King of Bountiful Harvests?"
"I know! I know!" a girl in the group eagerly raised her hand. "The King of Bountiful Harvests is a Pokémon that brings prosperity to farmers, and it can even surf the internet!"
"Absolutely correct!" Professor Oak laughed and nodded approvingly. "Calyrex is truly remarkable. But remember, it's not just him. There are countless wondrous Pokémon across our world, each with amazing powers, waiting for us to discover them."
Gary smiled quietly, watching his grandfather introduce Pokémon to the excited children.
At that moment, a Rotom Phone buzzed with an incoming call.
Gary glanced over and saw Mr. Naoki pulling out his phone.
Their eyes met, and Naoki gave a small gesture, signaling Gary to continue while he stepped aside.
Gary nodded.
Naoki walked to a quiet spot and answered the video call.
The screen lit up, and Giratina's face appeared.
Giratina seemed to be flying at high speed, the scenery around it blurring past.
Naoki blinked in surprise. "?"
Giratina's furious voice blasted through the Rotom Phone.
"Those two troublemakers wrecked my place! Naoki, keep an eye on the house for me. I'm going to go settle this once and for all!"
