Chapter 64 - Ch 64: Lively Atmosphere

Wang Feng was sitting cross-legged under the tree and was frowning.

'just...what is wrong with this place...', he thought frustratingly.

It has been 5 days since Wang Feng reached this mountain top and got the Imperial Wisdom Peachs.

It had taken him about a day to breakthrough to the Foundation Realm.

After that, he had used 3 Star Diagrams— leaving the last one since he felt he didn't need it. Through those 3 Star Diagrams, he had gotten great surprises.

———————————————————

[Dragon Turning Strike]

[Grade: Mysterious]

[Description: A technique that allows user to compress all Qi— and attract an abundance the surrounding Qi and Earth's Energy— into a single attack. (Might get backlash if the used power is more than the body can handle)]

———————————————————

———————————————————

[Mysterious Tortoise Technique]

[Grade: Mysterious]

[Description : A defensive technique that takes inspiration from the shell of a tortoise.

Defensive Posture: It utilizes Earth and Water Qi to form a layer of shield around the user. The combination of Earth and Water Qi acts like quicksand, nullifying the attack by diminishing its force.

Rebound Posture: Akin to a Tortoise using its shell to attack, the user can redirect the force of the attack used on him, back at the attacker.]

———————————————————

[Sword Phantom]

[Grade: Heaven]

[Description: A technique that can only be used by those who have attained at least Sword Grandmaster Rank. It allows the users to make a phantom of a sword by intertwining their Sword Qi and the essence of the sword they have comprehended. The greater the understanding of the sword and sword Qi, the sharper the Sword Phantom.]

Wang Feng was pleasantly surprised to get these three techniques.

The first technique was similar to the Star Quake Strike Yang Kai had gotten in the original timeline. But instead of using Star Energy and Qi— according to Wang Feng's estimate— his technique harnessed the destructive Earth Energy, resulting in a shockwave like an Earthquake.

The second technique was something he had been wanting for sometime now; a defensive technique. And it wasn't just a simple one at that!

Upon using it once, Wang Feng could feel that even if he took a direct attack from a High-Peak True Element Realm Cultivator, he could still block the attack and rebound it towards the attacker— though with effort.

While using the technique, Wang Feng's thoughts wandered to Black Tortoise— a Divine Beast. He wondered if he could push this technique higher— making it comparable to those Divine Beasts.

The next technique, was again a surprise for him, unfortunately he couldn't use it for now. This was the Sword Phantom technique which could be used by a Sword Grandmaster— which he wasn't, yet.

After gaining the techniques, Wang Feng spent 2 day practicing the techniques— reaching the entry level in the Dragon Turning Strike and Mysterious Tortoise Technique.

The 4th day, he simply maditated and cultivated, completely adjusting to his new strength.

Today— the 5th day— he had consumed another Imperial Wisdom Peach. At first, he used the enhanced comprehension and Qi Control to further his techniques.

As a result of which, his Shadow Phantom Steps, Blazing Bull Charge and nearly all of his current Sword Techniques from the Five Attribute Sword Art were raised to the level of perfection.

{Note: Five Element Sword Art is not a singular technique. It consists of many techniques which Wang Feng had been using; Mountain Cleaver, Earth Splitter, Earthly Tribulation and Frost Demon Severance and a few that I haven't introduced right now.}

Just when Wang Feng was about to focus on the rest of his techniques, he felt it.

A disturbance. A crack in the laws of the world.

He, of course, couldn't really feel the laws, it was just a feeling he had because of his increased comprehension and his current connection to the world because of the Imperial Wisdom Peach— he felt as if the world he was currently in was... Damaged?

This strange thought coupled with the weird occurances made him frown more and more— but he was unable to find anything of significance, which made him frustrated.

After wreaking his mind for a few minutes, he felt the effect of the Imperial Wisdom Peach wear off.

He sighed and looked at the last peach— unwilling to use it right now. So he dejectedly stood up and placed the last peach in his inventory.

He walked towards the cliff and looked at the stretch of land below. 'Now that I have broken through and have improved my techniques. I should start looking for Su Yan and the other desciples...', Wang Feng thought as he stood there, wondering which way he should go.

Just then, a faint roar sounded from the distance, causing him to look towards it's source.

As soon as he turned, he saw what looked like a snake surrounded by small ants— though that was only because of the great distance between him and the place, a distance of approximately a few hundred miles.

According to Wang Feng's estimate, the snake should be about 50-60 meters tall— the size of a giant monster beast that had reached beyond Tier 4. As for the ant size beings in his distant vision, were obviously the various desciples of the sects.

Wang Feng chuckled, "looks like I don't have to look for them", he spoke as he vanished from his place like a shadow.

....

"Ying Rong, Attack from the side! Xie Hong Chen, attack from left, Zhao Fei Xue, attack it's spine with your sword!"

Su Yan was currently commanding High Heaven Pavilion's Disciples to attack the 5th Tier Snake Beast. Nearly 50 desciples attacked the beast with various attacks from all sides— the weaker desciples (below Separate and Reunion Realm) attacked from afar, while the stronger desciples engaged the Beast from various sides to make it distracted.

Su Yan looked at all this seriously while attacking the Beast as well. Her focus on the entire battlefield, whenever the Beast was close to killing a desciple, she would burst out with even greater power and send it away.

She thought back to her experience in the last 3 days since she exited the cave.

After killing the Tiger Beast with Storm Manor disciples, the groups had parted, with Su Yan taking charge of High Heaven Pavilion's Disciples. In the last 3 days, they had encountered two more Tier 5 beasts making this the fourth Tier 5 Monster Beast.

She had noticed how with each day passing— the Monster Beasts appearing grew stronger and more adapt at using their strength.

The only reason they were still able to kill these Tier 5 beasts until now was simply due to this reason. The Beast weren't able to use their complete strength, nor did they have the usual intelligence of a Tier 5 beast.

Even this Snake Beast— the strongest they had encountered till now— was only comparable to a Low Tier 5 Beast in its usable strength, while it's intelligence was still lower than an average Tier 5 Beast.

....

Wang Feng had a grim expression on his face as he constantly dodged, attacked and jumped from tree to tree.

"Why the F*ck are there so many Monster Beasts here now!!", he howled as he cleaved a High Tier 3 ape into two pieces while stomping on the ground to propel himself forward.

While behind him was a bunch of beasts— ranging from Tier 3 to Tier 4!

And, they've been chasing him for more than an hour!

When Wang Feng was descending from the mountain, he was a little confused when he heard much more activity in the forest below. But, he had brushed it off as a rare occurance— confident that it wouldn't be a problem for him.

Unfortunately, who would have known that as soon as he descended the mountain, he would be swarmed by numerous Monster Beast!

After getting ambushed, he swiftly fled upon feeling many Tier 4 Monster Beasts— feeling it wise to just leave for now— especially when he needed to reach his Sect mates quickly.

So, he fully utilized his movement technique and body strength to escape at full speed.

Now that he had broken through, his speed wasn't something that just anyone could catch up to— even Tier 5 Monster Beasts and Low Immortal Ascension Realm Cultivators would be troubled to catch him if he truly wanted to escape!

After the initial hoard was lost, came another one, than another, and so, Wang Feng was chased down by numerous Monster Beasts throughout his way out of the forest.

Along the way, Wang Feng found that the population of the Beasts had increased astonishingly. He also found that many of the Beasts here we're special Beasts with different lineages— Ancient Linages!

Beasts with Dragon, Golden Ape, Three Eyed Tiger, Nine Tailed Foxes, Black Tortoises, Tigers and such Linages were not too rare!

Wang Feng looked behind him— watching the few stubborn Monster Beasts behind him— all of them having insane speed compared to their cultivations— like the Peak Tier 3 Hell Shadow Cat, a Monster Beast that was faster than an average Peak Tier 4 Monster Beast.

Wang Feng clicked his tongue, his temper rising, "Fine! I'll just kill you stubborn lot!", he said as his body erupted with Golden Flames that started condensing into his katana along with rich Earth Qi and Scorching Yang Qi.

Not only that, but he also activated the power of his Celestial Splitter; making it absorb the surrounding Yang, Yin and Star Energy to empower the attack!

"Volcanion!"

He shouted with a swing of his sword. A thick, condensed wave of rigid dusty flame sword energy swept towards the beast with blinding speed.

All the beasts felt their hairs stand on ends and leapt away in hurry.

Unfortunately for them, only two were able to get away safely, while one got away with some injuries. As for the rest— they were reduced to molten flesh falling on the ground with a thud.

Wang Feng snorted when he say the fear in the remaining monsters. He immediately turned around and bolted towards his destination again— remembering to take the Beast Cores into his inventory before leaving.

....

Su Yan and the core desciples was panting slightly while many of the lower ranking desciples were completely exhausted.

It has been nearly 5 hours since they started fighting this Beast and it was honestly a little too difficult to deal with this one. Throughout the battle, despite being cornered, the beast was still able to keep it's vitals safe.

While Su Yan and a few others hand to constantly be on standby while attacking it to create and opening.

Su Yan was feeling frustrated. She could take care of this beast herself, albeit with some difficulty, but she needed to be alone for that— not being burdened by the exhausted desciples.

She had tried— twice— to make the exhausted desciples pull back. But as if knowing her thoughts, the snake went on a crazy charge, nearly killing a few of those desciples— making it impossible to evacuate the desciples.

It wasn't going to let them escape! They weren't going to let it escape! It was a deadlock...

"Ahhhh!!", Su Yan and the other desciples were suddenly startled when they heard a scream from one of their members. They quickly turned to see and their faces turned ugly.

One of their members was suddenly caught in the snakes tail— woven tightly around him with sickening sounds of bones resounding softly.

'No!', Su Yan's eyes widened as she moved. But she suddenly jumped back— avoiding getting swallowed whole by the snake. 'it's taken a hostage..', she thought aggravated.

"Ahhh!! Save Me!! Sister Su! Brother Xie! Ahh!", everyone froze when they heard a creaking sound with the intensifying screams fo the desciple.

Su Yan's eyes turned even colder, 'it wants to force us... Damn it...', she grinded her teeth secretly.

Just as they were all frozen, a suddenly rumble sounded from the nearby forest.

They all— including the snake— turned to look at the forest in union. Only to feel a buzz of violent winds and the desperate swaying of the greenery.

Suddenly, the snake let out a long, loud shreak, which was followed by a dull thud.

The group looked back hurriedly and sucked in a cold breath. The snake's tail had been severed— laying on the ground— twitching, bloodied. The desciples that was previously held in it... Gone.

"Whistle, It's quite lively here...", everyone looks looked towards the voice and their eyes nearly popped out when they saw Wang Feng holding the desciple that was in the snake's tail like a sack of potato.

Wang Feng smirked, gazing at Su Yan, "did you all miss me~?", he said in mischievous voice— ignoring the loud hissing of the injured Snake.
