Bella Woods answered the call and casually sat cross-legged on the lawn.
Ashton Marshall appeared to be in a hotel room, sitting on a sofa with his phone propped on the coffee table, leaning slightly forward with his elbows on his knees, looking calmly at Bella Woods.
"I was painting just now and didn't hear the phone ring." Bella explained for missing Ashton's call.
Ashton remained silent, just staring at Bella steadfastly.
His gaze always had a penetrating sharpness, and even across the screen, Bella felt uneasy under his scrutiny.
Especially after hearing Nina Sutton's story, Bella had a swirl of emotions she couldn't express.
For her, their relationship was fleeting, just a game, and she didn't want to cause any trouble before going abroad.
"Are you going to keep staring at me like this?" Bella asked, puzzled. "If there's nothing else, I need to pack up and go to the Woods Family for dinner."
"Going to the Woods Family for dinner?" Ashton frowned.
