Emily's tone was flat, devoid of any warmth, as if she were describing something entirely unrelated to herself.
A mocking smile tugged at her lips.
She wondered if it was necessary to remind Henry Parker that she had severed their father-daughter relationship long ago.
"Emily, I've heard all about the disgraceful things you've done. That Mr. William is married, yet you carry on with him inappropriately. Are you trying to bring shame upon the Parker Family?
Don't forget your surname is Parker!"
On the other end of the phone, Henry Parker's voice was full of reprimand. He had just left the police station, filled with anticipation.
He had been asking around about Mr. William, and when he found out that Mr. William was married, disappointment rushed in like a tidal wave.
"Henry Parker, my surname, Emily Parker, comes from my mother.
If you continue to disrespect me, don't blame me for taking legal action against you."
