The sounds came nonstop, and when my eyes snapped open, they carried an unhealthy red tint.
I pushed my upper body up, ready to tell whoever was at the door to scram while also switching off my phone until I saw the caller and a flood of reminders rushed through my head.
"Fuck."
Quickly yanking off my top, I answered the phone and hurried to the door.
"Sade," I said, unlocking the door without even bothering to see who was behind it.
"Marcus, where are you?"
"I'm on my way," I answered, struggling to wiggle out of my pants.
"On your way? You sound groggy. Did you just wake up?"
"Something like that."
"You forgot about your test?" Sade balked.
"Something like that."
"Marcus, are you hungover?"
"Ehh… I'll be there soon. Just wait for me, okay?"
Ending the call, I dropped my phone and immediately turned toward the bathroom.
"Did I even get to sleep at all?" I cried inwardly, registering Martha's presence but saying nothing.
