On Tenrou Island, a big brown bear can be seen running through the forest, chasing after a deer. Its body suddenly glows a little and then its speed suddenly increases. The bear quickly catches up to the deer and bites its neck, killing the deer instantly.
This bear is none other than Meteor Destroyer, Alex's best partner. He chose to stay on the island after they found Alex that was trapped inside the red crystal on the red flower. Meteor wanted to accompany Alex until he woke up and no one could change his mind.
6 years have passed since Alex's battle with Acnologia. So it's been 5 years since Meteor lived on this island and he is already used to living in the wild like a real wild bear. He hunts his own food in the forest or even in the sea.
His presence there actually also keeps Mavis from being lonely. The only times she had visitors were during the S-Class exams, after all. But now she has someone to talk to every day.
Mira also comes every once in a while to check on Alex and Meteor. She always brought some food for Meteor and stayed for a few days. The others also sometimes come even when it's not the time for the S-Class exam.
They even built a small hut near the giant red flower for Meteor to stay. It's made of wood and quite sturdy although it looks shabby. Well, it still looks better than Natsu's house that looks like a shack though.
Anyway, today after hunting a deer, Meteor returns to his hut, carrying the dead deer. He skillfully butchers the deer like a professional. Years of living with humans made him refuse to eat his prey like wild beasts.
While he still can eat raw meat, Meteor prefers them cooked. He always helped Alex dismantle and butcher their prey in the past. His dismantling skill is actually better than even most Fairy Tail Mages, even though he's a bear.
Meteor doesn't even need knives to dismantle. He just uses his sharp claws. Mavis even taught him a spell to sharpen his claws since he's here because she has too much free time. With that spell, Meteor can actually shoot sharp energy blades from his claws, but he only uses it to cut meat.
Anyway, he skillfully drains the deer's blood by pulling it up a tree using a rope. Then he skins it, cuts it apart with his claws, and separates its meat and organs. He doesn't waste any part only throwing away the inedible parts.
After that, he cooks the internal organs first by boiling them in a pot because they spoil quickly. People who see this for the first time will think that they are dreaming because they would never think that a bear could do all these things.
Meteor looks at the giant red flower after filling his stomach. He looks sad whenever he looks at the giant flower. It has been more than 6 years and Alex still hasn't recovered.
The bear wants to sleep in the hut after its stomach is full. But right when it walks away, the red flower suddenly shines. A bright red light shines from the giant red flower and soon all of its petals turn into red light.
Meteor's eyes widen in surprise, but his gaze is also filled with anticipation. Then, Mavis suddenly comes in a hurry. She was just resting on her tomb to maintain her energy when she suddenly felt a strong surge of magic power coming from the red flower.
"This is....."
Mavis can't say anything more and just watches there with Meteor. The red light keeps getting brighter and then a red light pillar is shot to the sky, piercing the clouds. It doesn't carry any power, but it looks eye-catching.
The red light pillar doesn't last long. It disappears quickly along with the giant red flower. The red light that looks like a big red light ball quickly changes its shape into a human's shape. It eventually disperses, revealing a human that both Mavis and Meteor know well.
"ALEX-SAN!" Mavis shouts as she sees Alex's body fall from his floating position.
But before he hits the ground, a fluffy brown bear catches him on its stomach. Alex is a tall man, but he looks small compared to Meteor. He is still unconscious though, so he looks like a person sleeping on a bear bed.
Alex slowly opens his eyes and the first thing he sees is 2 pairs of curious eyes. He is a bit surprised and it takes him a while to recognize the 2 faces that keep getting closer to his face now.
"Meteor and First Master?"
Seeing that Alex recognizes them, both Meteor and Mavis become very happy. Meteor even cries while hugging Alex who doesn't even have a string on his body. The bear is just too happy to see Alex waking up after such a long sleep.
It takes a while until they finally calm down and Mavis gives Alex a piece of cloth after realizing that he is fully naked. They sit around the fire camp while roasting meat because Alex is obviously very hungry now.
"6 YEARS?!" Alex is shocked when knowing that he has been asleep for 6 years.
He knew he had fought the 10 Tails for a really long time, but he doesn't know it has been 6 years since his battle with Acnologia. Just 1 more year and he would be frozen in time for 7 years, just like the Tenrou Team in the story.
Mavis tells Alex that Meteor has been staying by his side all these years. That's why the bear is very happy to see him wake up again and now keeps snuggling onto him because he missed Alex so much.
Alex actually feels bad for Meteor now. After all, he could wake up a little earlier. His battle with the 10 Tails had been over a few months ago, but he chose to not wake up yet so the Tailed Beasts could fully recover first.
The giant red flower that the 10 Tails created was very useful to gather magic power, after all. So they could recover their power faster if they use the red flower. That's why Alex chose to stay in that condition a little longer.
"So, what happened after my battle with Acnologia? Did anyone die?"
"No, the only casualties were just you and God Serena. The island where you fought was completely destroyed. Acnologia just left after destroying the island, so no one else died."
"I see."
Alex is relieved to know that Acnologia didn't go to destroy the continent. He guesses that Acnologia was satisfied by the battle with him and Serena. Acnologia also had fought August and Zeref before that, so he didn't need more battles.
"By the way, Alex-san. What happens to your right eye?" Mavis finaly asks because Alex's right eye is not normal. It has become a Rinne-Sharingan eye, like Sasuke's left eye. He got it after defeating the 10 Tails.
"Ah, this. I'm not really sure either. It must be a kind of Eye Magic, but I don't know much about its abilities yet." Alex can't explain about the eye because it is too complicated.
"You are not in pain, aren't you?" Mavis and Meteor look concerned.
"No, I'm fine." He is more than just fine. Getting a Rinne-Sharingan actually makes him really happy because it makes him feel very cool. But as he said, he still needs to learn about it later.
They talk more about what happened after that and how Alex could arrive on this island. Mavis doesn't know much about what happened on Ishgar though, so she can only tell Alex what she heard from the Fairy Tail Mages when they came here.
When they talk, Alex suddenly remembers something. He was taking Serena's 8 Dragon Lacrimas when that guy was killed by Acnologia. Alex kept them in his mouth, but they are nowhere to be found now.
"Crap! Did I swallow them?"
"What did you swallow?"
"Dragon Lacrimas."
Mavis is stunned and speechless. She asks for details, so Alex tells her how he took Serena's Dragon Lacrima after the man was killed and kept them in his mouth because he had nowhere to keep them back then, but now they have gone.
"I planned to give them to Master so we can raise some strong Dragon Slayers in the future. But now it won't be possible."
"Alex-san, if you really swallow them, doesn't that mean you can use Dragon Slayer Magic now?"
Mavis asks and Alex tries to use any of the 8 Dragon Slayer Magic. But it doesn't work. He still can't use any other magic than Take-Over Magic. So he thinks that maybe he didn't swallow them and they were lost somewhere.
But then the Tailed Beasts tell him that he did swallow them. They have disappeared and merged completely with his magic. So they were actually absorbed by the Tailed Beasts.
'..... Does that mean you are Dragon Slayers now?' Alex thinks they've become Dragon Slayers after absorbing Dragon Lacrima.
'Well, kind of. They affected our abilities, but didn't change them completely. Now, our abilities are more destructive and should be more effective against Dragons. The next time we fight Acnologia our attacks will damage him more, so our chance of winning will be much higher. You still need to get stronger to avoid getting killed again though.'
'That's always the plan.'
Alex never expected such a twist, but he is happy with it. With Rinne-Sharingan and Dragon Lacrimas' effects, his chance to defeat Acnologia has become higher. There is also a hidden weapon he gets, but he won't reveal it anytime soon.
