The cultists turned just in time to see the monster pounce on them. The leader, the one with the thicker, darker aura, extended his arm as if trying to control the chimera, but to no avail. The beast roared directly at him, its voice full of rage, of confusion, in an instant three whirlwinds of dark energy formed around the chimera that no longer responded to human orders.
The man could only watch us go as he tried to contain it.
I did not wait to see the result.
We ran without looking back.
The enarming chimera beast and the demonic cultists were left behind fighting in complete chaos. From where we were there was only the flash of leaking energy and the muffled screams echoing behind us. Finally, after several corridors, the sound was buried and we were able to come to a steel door covered in mithril that was partially open. Without hesitation we slipped inside, closing it behind us as best we could. A tense silence reigned for a moment.
