The appearance of humans had alarmed the worm beast sleeping underground. One by one, the worm beasts woke up from their crawling positions.
The size of the worm beasts varies. There is a huge worm beast over 50 ft that is still in a deep sleep. Those under 50 ft woke up after sensing the changes on the surface.
