Chapter 48 - One Man, Many Hearts — A Farewell Before the Ascent

The golden glow of infinite heavens streamed down the open balcony, casting its gentle glow over the sea of divine bodies nestled around Kal.

After talking a small peaceful break around his beloved womens~

Kal's golden eyes gradually opened, shining like a sunrise breaking over the world.

His chest rose with a great, satisfied sigh, arms embracing soft waistlines and smooth thighs, his body still surrounded by the countless wives he had taken in his boundless palace.

Lois shifted beside him, murmuring sleepily as she pulled herself closer to his side.

"Mmm… already woke-up?"

He smiled and kissed her temple.

"The sun rises more slowly than I do, love."

She smiled at him, encircling one leg about his hip.

"Show-off."

On his other side, Kara was already stretching, her arms raising above her head, toned muscles shifting beneath smooth skin.

"You guys really~showing lovey-dovey in the morning. Almost makes me want to throw something at you."

Kal chuckled, and kissed her neck.

"You'd still miss."

"I'd let it slap you," Kara breathed, her cheeks burning as his hand slid down her spine.

"Once, though."

There was a melodious sound of yawns and laughter as all the other womens also gradually getting up.

Raven sat up next, purple hair tumbling over one eye, voice low and teasing.

"So… is today one of those days when you get half the multiverse jealous?"

Starfire rolled into view, practically glowing as she climbed on top of Kal's stomach and purred.

"Glorious morning snuggles with Kal are the greatest source of joy in the cosmos."

"Get in line, alien princess,"

Harley Quinn climed up from somewhere near Kal's legs, her bare shoulder peeking from under a silk pillow.

"I called dibs after breakfast!"

"You called dibs on his abs, his arms, and his—"

Ivy's sultry voice joined from behind Kal, her leafy hair spilling across his shoulder.

"—everything else. How greedy can one woman be?"

"I'm clingy," Harley shrugged with a wink.

"Sue me."

Selina Kyle stretched like a cat, fully nude, her curves bathed in honeyed light. She pushed onto Kal's chest and snuggled close.

"We're all selfish with our man. Just own up to it."

"well, I don't need to admit anything," Talia al Ghul's voice was crisp and smooth, like a blade drawn.

"I always earned it.Unlike some of you temple courtesans who sleep around."

"Better than being a League heiress with a superiority complex,"

Diana said coolly from her place on the edge of the bed, already half-dressed in a loose silk robe.

Kal raised his hand and let out a breath, laughing.

"Before this starts another heavenly pillow fight, can I speak?"

Lois playfully tapped his nose. "If you must."

Kal slowly rose to a sitting position, the golden blankets falling away from his body as he stretched — all of his muscles flexing, every curve of his body radiating like molten flame.

The movement made several women suck in their breaths.

Even Raven looked away.

"I've decided," Kal began, his voice soft but powerful,

"to travel to another world. A verse beyond this one. A place where people claw their way up the heavens. A realm where strength is everything."

Talia leaned forward, intrigued. "You speak of a cultivation world? Like those cultivation novel!!"

Kal nodded. "Yeah.. I want to see what kind of soul survives in a place where everyone is desperate to become a god."

A soft hush fell across the room.

Lois sat upright, frowning slightly.

"How long?"

"Time flows differently there," Kal replied.

"A year there will be mere days here."

"That's not the point," Kara said, crossing her arms. "You'll be alone."

He smiled at her gently.

"Not entirely. That's why I'm asking now — who among you wants to come with me?"

A silence.

Then Lois exhaled. "I… can't. Not this time. I've still got work — and Earth needs me, at least the part of it that I run."

She smoothed her fingers over Kal's cheek, her eyes gentle.

"But I'll be here when you return."

Kara laid her head on his shoulder. "I also wanted to… but not now as I also have some things to do"

"I understand," Kal whispered, leaving a kiss on her brow.

Next to him, Lara Lor-Van, his mother and aunt, Alura In-Ze exchanged a look.

"We Kryptonian matriarchs can't go either, Dear" Lara whispered.

"We have newborn experiments in our labs we can't abandon."

"But take some kryptonian generals, scientists and other professionals along with you," Alura added, placing her hand on Kal's. "To better take care of you, Dear"

Desire rolled over, her golden eyes sparkling. "Ugh,Although I hate missing another hot conquest dimension…but needs to stay here"

Delirium pouted and fiddled with her aglowing hair.

"I want to go…"

"Nope dear..You can't as you also have your duty to fulfil~" saying so as Desire made Delirium sad.

Kal seeing her sad, patted her head as she purrs in delight.

Death, sitting calmly at the perimeter of the chamber, bestowed Kal with a small, affectionate smile.

"I can't go this time, love" she said. "Too many souls crossing the veil. They need me."

Kal stood and crossed the room to her.

He cupped her face and leaned his forehead against hers.

"I'll make it up to you guys. A private retreat — just us. No interruptions."

She leaned and kissed his lips softly. "You'd better."

Diana stepped forward next, arms crossed.

"I want to go," as she also wants more time Kal. "but the new little Amazons are restless."

Hippolyta, her royal presence unmistakable, stepped alongside her daughter.

"Don't worry, I and your aunt will take care these so go" making Diana very happy~

A few Amazons in golden robes nodded silently behind them — though one or two lingered in Kal's gaze a little longer than necessary before bowing.

"I'll pass this time," Raven said softly. "Cultivation worlds… tend to draw out the worst in people. But I'll watch you through my mirrors."

Starfire kissed his cheek.

"I will remain as well. There are matters in Tamaran that require my brightness."

Then Ivy kissed him deeply, her vines curling around his wrist.

"Dear, you already know that I will come~"

Harley clung to his back like a koala. "I'm also comin' Don't forget mee. Cultivation world sounds like chaos right, and I thrive in chaos, puddin'!"

Selina slipped her arms around his waist. "We, the gotham dangerious trio must make that world tremble in our presense~"

Talia crossed her arms, smirking. "You think I'd let you go alone to a world ruled by strength and ideology? That's my kind of place."

Kal raised an eyebrow at the four women embracing him.

"You'll all go?"

"Certainly," Selina whispered.

"Duh," Harley winked.

"Try and stop me," Talia said calmly.

From the Kryptonian side, a squad of tall, silver-haired women in tailored armor stepped forward. One bowed.

"We will accompany you, Lord Kal."

Kal nodded in appreciation.

More women stepped back, some giving longing looks, others playful winks, a few with slight pouts on their lips.

"I'll come next time," Starfire called. "Promise!"

"Bring me a talisman or artifact," Raven added.

"Try not to seduce an entire sect in one week," Lois smirked.

"I give him two days," Kara muttered.

"Hours," Desire corrected.

Laughter rose like music, and Kal stood at the center, their warmth swirling around him.

He opened a glowing portal with a wave of his hand — golden lightning sparking around its rim.

"To Martial Peak," he thinks.

Selina took his hand.

Harley grabbed his arm.

Ivy behind him.

Talia and Diana both stepped beside him, eyes forward like a general.

The Kryptonians and maids followed in silence.

Kal looked once more over his beloveds — goddesses, warriors, queens, and lovers — each beautiful in their own, each connected to his soul.

He turned toward the golden portal shimmering in front of him, the rift leading to the next world.

The Martial Peak universe — a world he had already known, already prepared for, already chosen.

A realm of ruthless advancement and limitless cultivation.

He wasn't going to learn the system.

He was going to conquer it.

Ivy stepped beside Kal, wrapping a vine gently around his wrist, her green eyes glowing.

"I'll make this new world bloom," she whispered with a sultry smile.

And then from within a portal — Liora came forward.

Clad in flowing silver robes, her beauty soft and fierce, the mother of Arin stepping close to Kal.

Kal gave her a deep nod, then looked back one last time.

To his mother, to Death, to Kara, to Lois — to all the others.

Their smiles held longing.

Their eyes held trust.

"Don't worry," Kal said, his voice filled with promise and purpose.

"This isn't a farewell. It's an expansion of our family."

He turned toward the rift, golden light outlining his powerful form.

"I know the verse. I know the laws. I know the heavens they worship."

His voice dropped low, divine and resonant.

"I'm not going to explore that verse…"

He stepped forward — head high, heart steady.

"I'm going to dominate it."
