Mina was pushed through the crowd. Aaron and Naarah rushed with the nurses.
Aaron examined Mina, his gut twisted- he clenched his fists. The disinfected atmosphere made him uncomfortable. He didn't want to remember the time she drank the poison, she wanted to die, and she tried to leave him. He swore to himself that she wasn't going to visit this place again and now this. Last time, it was an accident. Can he call this an accident too? His princess was going to leave him. Goosebumps creep on his skin.
No, he can't think like that. He can't lose her. They can lose the baby but not her. Maybe, he should have listened to her when she said she didn't want the baby. Why did he have to talk her into keeping it?
" Aaron," Naarah said.
He turned to look at her with a lost expression.
" What?" he bellowed
" We can't enter."
Aaron snapped out of what he was thinking. He looked around him and found the ER ward. Mina had been pushed in.
" W-when was she pushed in. I need to be with her. She can't be alone. What if she decides to leave me? I can't allow that "
He struggled to enter the ER, but his guards had to stop him.
" STOP IT AARON!" Naarah yelled
She understood he wasn't in his right mind but creating a scene now wasn't going to help.
Naarah sighed before saying;
" We are both going through some shit, but Mina, she needs us. She needs you to stay strong. I need you, please." she begged
Naarah had never begged him before and that was what made him emotional.
The guards let go of him. He stared blankly at the floor, with trembling hands. His breath was stuttering. He sat down on the bench that faced the ward. He had to be strong, for his princess. However, he couldn't think straight. He kept thinking about the past. He gripped his hair and bowed his head down.
"I'm sorry, princess. Please don't leave me."
A tear slipped down his face. He sniffed it back, holding himself together but his heart kept shuddering. Will she forgive him? He keeps on asking for forgiveness but he is always doing the opposite of what he promised.
The light was still on. It had been hours since Mina was pushed in. Both Naarah and Aaron kept pacing. On the edge of breakdown. They didn't want to check the time, but they knew time was ticking.
They halted, there was a sound coming from the ward. It wasn't the sound they've been hearing for a couple of hours. It was the sound of a baby.
Naarah glanced at Aaron. His gaze was fixed on the ward. There was a glimpse of hope in his eyes.
The door to the ward was opened harshly, and nurses rushed out.
" This isn't right," Naarah exclaimed.
She tried to stop one of the nurses but they were in a hurry.
Something wasn't right and they could feel it. The nurses had a panicked look on their faces.
