Chapter 176 - Chapter 177: Trial of Tumaru: The Thunder Fog

"Finally… you return."

The voice was neither loud nor soft. It was ancient. Deep. Reverberating through the very bones of the Temple. A voice not made to be heard but to be felt.

Jin stood at the foot of the floating staircase inside the Temple of Tumaru, his cloak whipping around him in the cosmic wind. The stars danced behind the shattered glass dome above him, revealing infinite darkness beyond.

"I've come to complete the remaining trials," he said, his voice calm yet resolute.

A great hum echoed across the void. The space trembled as the temple itself acknowledged his resolve.

"Then walk. The path ahead is carved by blood and forged in will."

Before Jin, a series of floating platforms appeared, glowing softly with draconic runes. A portal opened at the far end—a swirling gate of silver mist and crackling red lightning.

Without hesitation, Jin stepped forward.

Monsters poured forth like liquid nightmares—misshapen beasts with cracked skulls, tusks made of bone-fire, and claws that tore reality as they moved. The low-ranked Trial Guardians were unrelenting.

Jin stood alone, surrounded.

"No powers. No army. Just me and my blade…"

A smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

"Sounds fair."

The silence was broken by the ringing clash of steel and screams of monsters. Jin became a storm, a blur of shadow and crimson light. He moved like a phantom—slashing, spinning, vanishing, and reappearing with corpses falling in his wake.

One monster lunged toward him with a roar.

"RAAA—!"

"Shut up," Jin muttered.

He ducked low, twisted, and drove his blade through its skull. Another came from behind— but Jin sliced it by his blade

When the final beast fell, Jin stood amid a sea of dissolving corpses.

"Impressive," the voice echoed again. "But the final guardian awaits."

The chamber was vast—an endless circular arena of floating stone islands. Crackling arcs of violet lightning danced across the skies, and fog covered the ground like a shroud. Jin stood before the massive door. He cleared all monster. Now he opened the door.

Then came the sound.

Crack—BOOM!

A flash of lightning struck the center island. From it emerged a massive, giant terrifying frog composed of swirling storm clouds and thunderous fury.

Its voice was like a hurricane screaming through a mountain gorge.

"I am Thunder Frog. Final boss. Prove you are worthy of the Godblood within you!"

Jin drew his sword and crouched slightly.

"Let's get this over with."

Thunder Frog struck first, sending bolts of divine lightning arcing across the battlefield. Jin leapt between islands, barely dodging the blasts, his movements erratic and instinctive.

He slashed back—but the blade phased through the fog.

"Tch. Not solid. Of course."

"You'll need more than muscle to strike me!" the guardian mocked.

Jin smirked. "Then I'll hit you where it hurts."

But Thunder Frog laughed, dispersing it with a thunderclap.

Jin flew back, smoke rising from his wounds. His vision blurred.

Then, a voice echoed in his mind.

"You don't win by force. You win by insight."

Gritting his teeth, Jin steadied himself. He closed his eyes for a second suddenly a voice came to his mind now unseal your powers. Then… opened them again.

A pulse of light surged from his eyes.

[God Vision: Activated]

Suddenly, everything shifted. The storm slowed. The illusions around the battlefield cracked. Jin saw it—the true form of Thunder Frog: a tiny, flickering core buried inside the mass of lightning.

And more than that… he saw its fear.

"…You're afraid I'll find you."

Jin vanished.

Thunder Frog recoiled. "No—how—!?"

Jin appeared behind the creature, eyes glowing silver.

"You're done."

He stabbed straight into the heart of the core.

A scream of lightning echoed across the heavens as the storm began to collapse. After this battle, when dust was fading then a voice appeared.

[Victory Achieved: Trial – Complete]

Jin dropped to one knee, panting. His clothes were singed, his blade cracked, but his eyes gleamed with power.

Above him, a massive golden sigil formed, descending like a crown.

"You have proven your worth. Accept your rewards."

Golden light enveloped him, pouring into his body.

"This… is just the beginning."

Behind him, the Temple began to shake.

Another portal appeared, glowing with platinum fire.

A voice, even older than the temple itself, whispered into the void.

"Now… face the next trials."

Jin turned.

"…Wait there is something I need to do."

He looked at the dead body of Thunder Frog.
