"Have you noticed that there's something off about the number of Demon Beasts around us today?" Lucas asked sharply.
"No! Isn't it good that there are fewer Demon Beasts?" O'Neill replied carelessly, thinking that with fewer Demon Beasts, they could move faster, and that should be a good thing, right?
"With so many of us gathered here, logic dictates that more Demon Beasts should be drawn to us, even high level ones, just like yesterday. But today, the Demon Beasts have vanished. There can only be two possibilities: one is that we might have scared them off, and the other is the presence of other people nearby who have dealt with the Demon Beasts before us. If it's the former then there's no problem, but if it's the latter, that means we could very well have unknown enemies close by." Lucas knew O'Neill wasn't the brightest, so he explained it more thoroughly.
O'Neill, upon hearing this, suddenly became alert.
Because if Lucas was right, it meant they were being watched.
