Floette is a Fairy-type Pokémon. It evolves from Flabébé and, when exposed to a Shiny Stone, evolves into Florges, a highly useful Fairy-type Pokémon, primarily as a support in battles.
This support-specialized Pokémon has a significant advantage against Dragon-type Pokémon due to its Fairy typing.
However, since this type of Pokémon has not yet been officially introduced in certain regions, such as Kanto, finding a Floette here is quite a surprise, as they were first seen in the Kalos region.
It was astonishing to encounter a Floette in such a place. These Pokémon usually live in flower fields, surrounded by blossoms and butterflies, which they love.
After encountering a Pangoro and seeing a Skiddo grazing peacefully nearby, Cain began to think that stumbling upon a Floette here wasn't entirely impossible.
Hidden among the flowers, Floette tried to quietly move away from Cain. However, when she turned to make sure he hadn't noticed her, she saw his eyes fixed on her with a smile that made her tremble. So startled was she that she almost dropped the flower she was holding.
Floette, barely 20 centimeters tall, had stayed well-hidden among the flowers, but now Cain had spotted her. Furthermore, since Cain was searching for a support Pokémon, he already knew what the outcome would be.
"Slowking, use your psychic powers to catch Floette, carefully so as not to harm her," Cain instructed Slowking.
"Yadon~!" Slowking responded, nodding as his eyes glowed with psychic energy.
Floette, though not particularly weak at level 30, was unaccustomed to battling and could barely resist as Slowking enveloped her with his powers, lifting her slowly toward Cain.
Suspended before him, with tears in her eyes, her fragile, tiny appearance evoked a hint of tenderness in Cain, though he maintained his composure. "Well, it seems you're quite good at using the move Tearful Look," he said with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Floette's tears stopped immediately, and she stared at Cain, surprised that her trick hadn't worked on him.
At that moment, Cain's other Pokémon—Honchkrow, Weavile, Skorupi, and Gengar—approached with curiosity, surrounding the tiny Floette. At just 20 centimeters, the petite Pokémon suddenly found herself encircled by a group of "giants."
Honchkrow and the others had never seen a Fairy-type Pokémon before, and their curious gazes only heightened Floette's fear. This time, her tears were from pure terror, not a move.
From Floette's perspective, even Cain seemed like a giant surrounded by these five Pokémon, all much larger than her.
Cain extended his hand, gently holding Floette as Slowking released her from his psychic grip.
Floette trembled as she felt the warmth of Cain's hand. He looked at her with a reassuring smile, though the poor Pokémon remained fearful with so many eyes on her.
"Floette, what do you think? Would you help me while I'm on this island? You'd be my support Pokémon, and when I leave, you can decide whether to stay here or come with me," Cain said, connecting his thoughts with Floette's through telepathy.
Floette stared at him. Although Cain smiled, she sensed an intense and dangerous energy in him. She knew she had to accept his proposal because if she didn't, things could turn very bad.
Though it seemed like he was giving her a choice, Floette understood she couldn't refuse.
Floette, though small, wasn't naïve. Since her days as a Floette, she had survived among much stronger wild Pokémon, carving out a small place to live peacefully.
But just as her tranquil life seemed to begin, Cain appeared—a being who radiated a dangerous sense of menace, even as he smiled.
She couldn't imagine saying no. If she did, would she be punished until she said yes?
At that thought, Floette trembled once more. She didn't dare to keep thinking.
What she didn't know was that Cain, through his telepathy, could effortlessly sense all her thoughts and emotions. Knowing her fears perfectly, Cain could barely suppress a chuckle.
Maintaining his smile, though a bit stiff, Cain thought that for a little Pokémon barely 20 centimeters tall, Floette had a lot of worries in her head.
But it didn't matter—now that she would be his Pokémon, all decisions would go through him.
Floette's thoughts, so varied and complicated, had been captured by Cain with total clarity. She had even come close to cursing Cain in her mind.
Cain, unable to hold back any longer, cleared his throat. The sound startled Floette again, and she nodded frantically.
She preferred to accept the proposal rather than risk punishment.
Cain didn't place too much importance on the process; only the result mattered to him. He pulled out a Luxury Ball and gently tapped Floette with it, capturing her. The Poké Ball shook continuously in his hand, as Floette, though resigned, didn't give in so easily.
Two minutes passed before the Luxury Ball finally stopped. Cain, still smiling slightly, resisted the urge to scold Floette for her resistance.
Immediately after, he released her again and placed her in the front pocket of his jacket. At first glance, Floette looked like a flower adorning Cain's pocket, hidden and protected.
From there, Floette adjusted herself slightly, gripping the edge of the pocket with one hand while holding her flower with the other. Looking down from that height, she experienced a different perspective of the world for the first time.
In the end, Floette thought that maybe things weren't so bad after all. Perhaps Cain wasn't as terrible as she had imagined.
