OLIVIA
My eyes cracked open for the first time in a while and I was instantly hit by the darkness which seemed to envelope itself all around me. It felt like I had been covered with a veil for too long and it was taking a very long time for my eyes to get used to how dark everything around me was. That was the first thing I noticed, the second and most pronounced was the banging ache that I could now feel at the back of my head. It felt extreme and seemed to even get worse as I tried my bestto move. There was a wave of nausea which seemed to roll through my entire body, forcing me to pause for a bit.
I was on the cold, hard concrete floor and it was extremely cold. As I rested my arms against it, I could feel the chill bleeding into my spine, my hips and even the sides of my face. The air around me smelled faintly of what could only be described as rot and rust and that old smell of stagnated water.
