By the time Tang Xiaowan descended the stairs and arrived at the open-air courtyard, Li Zishen was already seated in the pavilion, drinking tea.
The basket of roses had been moved to one side.
Bathed in the dim yellow light, the man's tall figure and calm demeanor made it seem as though he owned the place.

Yet his jealousy-laden comment left Tang Xiaowan utterly shocked; she rapidly recalled the message on the card, which seemed unremarkable.
A guess suddenly flashed through her mind.
Unsure of her own thoughts, she tentatively asked, "What do you mean?"
"You don't like the flowers he sent?"
Tang Xiaowan's mind buzzed explosively, but she had to stay composed and not let Li Zishen realize that her understanding was correct.
The flowers weren't from him, how could they be?
