The fifth floor, compared to the chaos of the lower levels, felt like a strange kind of luxury.
It wasn't quiet by any means since the roars of monstrous beasts still echoed through the hallways, and the ground would tremble from time to time as some unseen guardian stomped past, but for once, Creed and his girls weren't constantly dodging sneak attacks from other candidates desperate for points.
That alone made it feel like a vacation.
"Ah," Creed grinned while stretching his arms behind his head, "finally a floor where we don't have to worry about some half-baked wannabe hero trying to jump us every three minutes."
Lilith, who was busy slicing through a horned panther with her scythe like she was peeling an apple, rolled her eyes.
"I kinda miss the idiots, though. They made good target practice."
Tierra, standing nearby and rearranging the floating knives around her, nodded. "At least they were more fun than these things. These beasts are just muscle and teeth."
