"What is her name?"
Thor was visibly moved by Frigga words, particularly upon hearing that Hela had been the previous wielder of Mjolnir. He looked at the hammer in his hand, feeling as if there was a green glow above his head.
"Hela."
Frigga replied, "The Goddess of Death, Hela."
Unbeknownst to them, as they conversed.
Earth.
On a coast in Norway, a seal was torn open.
It was a deep and dark space.
A seductive figure clad in fitted armor and a fierce-looking helmet appeared in the Nine Realms.
It was Hela, the Goddess of Death spoken of by Frigga.
"The old fool has finally died…"
Hela stood by the sea, watching the tide ebb and flow, then turned her gaze towards New York.
That was where Odin had last been.
Hela eyes harbored a coldness, suppressing deep-seated anger.
Sensing that the power that had sealed her was completely gone, the lingering sorrow on her face gradually dissipated into nothingness.
"Now that the old fool is dead, there is no one in the Nine Realms who can stop me…"
"This will ultimately be my world!"
As her words fell, she flashed into the vast and mysterious ocean, found a spatial rift, and without hesitation, stepped through.
Hela was not concerned about being taken to an unknown area by the spatial rift.
Most spatial rifts in the Nine Realms served as windows between the realms, a fact Hela had known for over ten thousand years.
And her destination, needless to say, was Asgard.
Odin was dead.
The throne was unoccupied.
Regardless of who was intended to be the next ruler of Asgard, Hela intended to seize the throne and use Asgard to reconquer the Nine Realms and then march towards dominating the entire universe.
In the name of Hela.
Asgard, the palace.
"Then why have I never known about having a sister?"
Thor forehead was full of question marks, "And why does the Twilight of the Gods have something to do with Hela?"
"After Odin conquered the Nine Realms and ushered in a golden era for Asgard, he set aside his ambitions, intending to treat the realms kindly.
But your sister Hela vision was completely at odds with Odin. Hela ambition and belligerence led her to part ways with Odin."
Frigga patiently explained, "Later, Odin sent the Valkyries to subdue Hela but she annihilated them. Ultimately, Odin stripped her of her powers and imprisoned her somewhere in the Nine Realms."
"The reason you've never heard of Hela all these thousands of years is because Odin didn't know how to face his own daughter.
He simply used magic to block all information about Hela, even erasing her from the history of Asgard…"
"So, Hela became a ghost in our history books, and the Twilight of the Gods… is Hela revenge?"
Thor finally understood.
"Correct."
Frigga nodded, "The Twilight of the Gods is indeed Hela revenge."
"Is Hela really that powerful?"
Thor puzzled, "Although I am not as strong as my father, I could still stand my ground against him... If Hela faced the entire might of Asgard, how could she possibly bring about its destruction and the fall of the gods?"
"You do not understand Hela."
Frigga sighed, "Hela is not weaker than your father, perhaps even stronger... The reason she was sealed by your father is not so simple.
Otherwise, Hela wouldn't be so enraged, even wanting to destroy and rebuild Asgard."
As she spoke, her expression suddenly changed.
Seeing this, Thor sensed something amiss and his expression altered as well.
At the door.
Heimdall, having overheard the entire conversation between Thor and Frigga from behind the door, grasped the antecedents and consequences, affirming the existence of the ghost in history, Hela, and the true nature of the Twilight of the Gods.
"She coming!"
Suddenly, his expression shifted, divine power covering his eyes, seemingly observing a corner of Asgard where space was tearing open.
A rift appeared, and through it, a bewitching female figure approached, her fierce helmet and commanding presence unmistakably extraordinary.
"Hela!"
Although he had only just heard this name, and knew nothing of Hela physical traits, Heimdall recognized her identity immediately.
It was indeed Hela, the Goddess of Death spoken of by Frigga, sealed away for countless years after her fallout with Odin, now returning to precipitate the Twilight of the Gods.
At the same time.
Asgard, the grand palace.
Wonder Woman also sensed a massive divine force appearing in Asgard, a power not inferior to Odin.
Before this, there was no such mighty deity in Asgard.
Clearly, Hela had returned to Asgard.
The Twilight of the Gods was officially underway.
Hela soared into the sky, speeding toward the palace.
The clouds in the sky were shredded from afar by the aura and pressure she released, waves of energy rippling through the air behind her.
Amidst the incredible sounds of explosions and gusting winds, Hela rapidly approached Asgard.
"Who goes there!"
"Halt!"
"Stop where you are, this is the palace... come any closer, and you will be killed without mercy!"
The palace guards, seeing a powerful figure flying rapidly towards them from the sky, raised their spears, aiming at the enchanting figure approaching.
Thor, stepping out onto the balcony of Frigga chamber, saw Hela with her exaggerated helmet approaching the palace.
Without hesitation, she waved her hand and sharp swords appeared in the air, piercing through it like arrows, instantly penetrating the chests of the palace guards.
The swords did not stop upon entering the guards chests. They carried the bodies with immense force and smashed them against the palace walls until the guards were pinned, their expressions showing extreme pain, some instantly losing signs of life.
"Dammit!"
Thor clenched his teeth, unable to accept Hela dominance and cruelty.
Knowing the truth about the Twilight of the Gods from Frigga, even though Hela was his sister, he could not accept that she was about to take revenge on Asgard.
He raised Mjolnir, clouds gathering above him, with thunderbolts crisscrossing.
Immediately after, Thor dashed towards Hela like lightning, swinging Mjolnir with all his might, intending to stop her advance.
But Thor had underestimated Hela, not fully appreciating her power.
Upon seeing Thor attack, Hela instantly recognized his identity.
Although Mjolnir had its unique qualities, Hela stubbornly believed that only a member of the Odin family could wield it.
Moreover, the blood kinship between siblings was unmistakable.
Hela raised her hand to block the thunder attack while grabbing the thundering Mjolnir with her other hand, her expression calm.
Thor hovered in the air, both hands on the hammer handle, shocked to see Mjolnir head being gripped by Hela before him.
Facing Hela.
"I never thought I'd have a little brother."
Hela spoke slowly, her hair billowing in the wind, not with the allure of a woman, but filled with endless murderous intent.
"It seems you are Odin chosen successor…"
"To kill you…"
"I can rebuild Asgard!"
"Those who follow me prosper, those who oppose me perish!"
Crack, crack, crack!
As she spoke, she tightened her grip, and the handle of Mjolnir, held in her palm, began to emit the sound of being overwhelmed.
"What?"
Horror intensified on Thor face.
He began to question what he was seeing, as the Mjolnir he grasped began to crumble.
Until the next moment, when Mjolnir completely exploded, shattering into countless fragments, Thor was still unwilling to accept the reality.
"How is this possible?"
Without the aid of Mjolnir, Thor could no longer stay airborne and crashed heavily to the ground. Hela then kicked him, sending him smashing into the walls of the palace.
Frigga stood on the balcony, witnessing Hela actions, her face marked with sorrow.
Hela stood at the entrance of the palace on the long, wide staircase, locking eyes with Frigga on the high balcony.
Both remained silent.
"Hmph!"
Finally, Hela diverted her gaze and coldly began to walk towards the grand hall of the palace.
Thor sat on the ground, his face still blank with shock, still reeling from the destruction of Mjolnir.
"Thor!"
Heimdall rushed out of the palace and upon seeing Thor expression, immediately came forward to rouse him.
"Pull yourself together! Losing Mjolnir isn't the end of everything. You are still the God of Thunder, remember what you promised Odin—that you would protect Asgard!"
Heimdall words snapped Thor back to reality.
Though still shocked, he regained his will to fight.
"Right, I can't let Hela destroy Asgard!"
"I must prevent the Twilight of the Gods!"
In the grand hall of the palace.
Hela returned there, finding the surroundings both familiar and strange.
Familiar was the layout of the hall strange were the murals on the walls and the dome, which held no place for her.
Odin had completely erased her from Asgard history.
Although she had anticipated all this, seeing it in person still unleashed a fury within her that she couldn't suppress.
"Hahahahahaha!"
She let out a piercing laugh, her laughter tinged with deep sorrow.
"This is Asgard?"
"How ridiculous!"
Her laughter echoed out of the grand hall, confusing Thor, who was advancing towards it, and even Heimdall, who heard Hela words but was also perplexed.
"Asgard like this might as well be destroyed…"
"I will create a new kingdom, one that belongs to me!"
Hela murmured to herself.
Massive divine power gathered, the air around seeming to thicken, countless sharp swords materializing from the void, slicing through the murals on the walls and the dome of the hall.
Crack, crack, crack, crack!
As Hela continued her destruction, cracks spread across the walls and dome of the hall, covering the entire structure.
It seemed as if, at any second, the entire grand hall might collapse right before her eyes.
"It looks like you've vented enough…"
Suddenly, a cool voice sounded, half mocking: "Shall we talk, Goddess of Death, Hela?"
"Oh?"
Only then did Hela realize she wasn't alone in the hall.
Before her stood a woman in armor, her figure striking, holding a divine sword in one hand and a golden whip in the other, calmly watching her.
"Who are you?"
Hela raised an eyebrow: "A new deity risen in recent years? A Valkyrie… I thought I had killed them all… You look good, if you are willing to join me, I can entrust Asgard to you. From now on, you will have a position second only to me."
"No thanks, I appreciate the offer, but I'm not from Asgard."
Wonder Woman said: "I'm just here on someone else behalf, to stop you."
"To stop me?"
Hela expression turned cold: "You're the last-minute help Odin found before dying? He thought you could save Asgard, stop my revenge… That really ridiculous!"
"Indeed ridiculous."
Wonder Woman nodded: "Stopping a madwoman like you, why would I need to lift a finger?"
Hela paused for a moment, her expression wildly changing as anger nearly overwhelmed her.
Her formidable divine power once again swept through the grand hall of the palace.
Countless swords hovered in the void, filling the space around the two figures, their tips all aimed at Wonder Woman.
"You will pay for what you've said... Valkyrie!"
As her words fell.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
Hela no longer intended to give Wonder Woman a chance to speak. Swords transformed into arrows, cutting through the air.
The place where Wonder Woman stood was pierced by these flying swords, soon resembling a mountain peak made entirely of weapons.
"Hmph!"
Seeing this, Hela didn't believe Wonder Woman could survive such an onslaught and turned to leave.
However, she had barely taken a step away when her steps halted.
Turning back, she looked at the small mountain of swords, her expression gradually darkening.
She could feel a surging power gathering within the mountain of weapons, as if some formidable enemy was gathering strength...
Hela frowned. "Her power alone should not make me feel this way… Who could it be? What has happened during the countless years I was sealed? What kind of powerful beings have emerged?"
At the same time.
Thor and Heimdall finally arrived at the grand hall.
Boom!!
Just as they stepped onto the floor of the grand hall, the mountain of weapons Hela had created was suddenly blasted apart by a tremendous force.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
The numerous swords summoned by Hela shattered instantly, turning to dust.
Those remaining were hurled back, embedding themselves in a 360-degree spread across the dome, walls, and floor of the grand hall.
At this moment.
Hela had no time to care about this.
During the explosion of the swords, a figure clad in blue armor rushed towards her at an incredible speed. A large hand reached out, tightly gripping her neck. The fingers, as if made of indestructible material, made it impossible for Hela to shake them off.
"You! What are you doing?"
Hela articulated each word, staring at the rugged, sharply defined man before her, her eyes ablaze with intense fury.
"Do you even know what you are doing?"
