The battle ended within a few short minutes.
In Daniel Mirror Dimension, the fight, though noisy, did not disturb anyone.
By this time, Kaecilius was charred black all over, his skin bristling, lying on the ground with his eyes rolled back and consciousness blurred.
Daniel gasped upon seeing this, "You went a bit too hard on him!"
"You're concerned about the well-being of a traitor?" Shazam raised an eyebrow. "Even if he died, couldn't you just use magic to interrogate his soul?"
"That true..." Daniel waved it off.
Afterwards, he dragged Kaecilius along with Shazam back to the New York Sanctum.
Daniel then raised his hand and cast a spell to revive Kaecilius.
Although his mind started functioning again, his injuries were severe, and his energy rapidly depleting. He could barely keep his eyes open to meet Daniel gaze.
"Daniel, you don't understand, the Ancient One is not as great as you think."
Kaecilius, seemingly anticipating Daniel questions, let out a weak, cold laugh, "Her greatness comes from abandoning the principles of a sorcerer."
"Principles..." Daniel shook his head.
"Whatever the Sorcerer Supreme did is irrelevant, as long as she hasn't harmed this world. She will always be the ruler of Kamar-Taj.
It you, Kaecilius, who planned to summon Dormammu and destroy this world."
"But the first one to contact Dormammu wasn't me."
Kaecilius sneered, "Who do you think allowed Dormammu to lock onto Earth coordinates? Do you think the Ancient One really liked being a guardian? She the one who caused the trouble and is now only trying to atone for her past mistakes… Even now, she using the power of the Dark Dimension to survive how else could she have lived this long?"
Shazam was aware of what they were discussing.
In the original storyline, the Ancient One secretly absorbed dark power to extend her life, living several hundred years longer.
In Kaecilius view, the Ancient One was a hypocrite, breaking the sorcerer principles to prolong her life, and it was due to her mistakes that Dormammu targeted Earth...
To Shazam, this line of reasoning wasn't that important.
What he was curious about was how Kaecilius dared to stay so long in New York, knowing it was the Justice League territory.
When Shazam raised this question, Kaecilius answer took him by surprise.
Even more surprising was how readily Kaecilius provided the answer.
"Because Odin of Asgard is in New York."
Kaecilius said, "Dormammu tasked me to find Odin, absorb his divine power, and offer it as a sacrifice to strengthen the power of the Dark Dimension."
"Odin?" Shazam was stunned.
Daniel Drumm also showed a look of astonishment.
Odin? The king of the gods of Asgard, father of Thor and the mischievous Loki, the one who once conquered the nine realms!
Although Daniel was considered a top-tier sorcerer on Earth, in the face of Odin from Asgard, he could only be seen as a minor figure.
Thousands of years ago, when humans were still primitive, Odin was already the king of the gods...
And after millennia, Odin was still the king of the gods.
Evidently, Daniel was not aware of the fact that Odin was close to death.
So, he couldn't help but ask Kaecilius, "How dare you seek out Odin, aren't you afraid of dying?"
"Hmph."
Though he believed he had no way out, Kaecilius harbored a pride in his heart, feeling superior as if he knew everything while Shazam and Daniel knew nothing.
Just as he was about to speak, Shazam interrupted him...
"Odin is dying!"
Shazam words left Daniel face frozen, incredulous as he looked up, his eyes filled with shock.
"What did you say?"
"Odin is dying!"
Shazam repeated, clarifying Daniel confusion: "Thor personally told us that Odin life is nearing its end... Dormammu probably sensed all this, which is why he targeting Odin, hoping to absorb Odin divine power to expand his own strength."
"That makes sense…"
Daniel was still trying to comprehend this news, nodding subconsciously.
Meanwhile,
Anton shared the memories of his Shazam avatar.
After learning from Kaecilius that Odin was currently in New York, he immediately dispatched another avatar.
Wonder Woman.
He sent Wonder Woman to track down Odin.
The next moment, Wonder Woman dashed out from the window he was near, arriving above the bustling streets of New York, and with her eyes slightly closed, a surge of divine power swept out.
This was a technique used for locating someone.
Of course, this method could only be used under certain conditions.
For instance, someone like Odin, whose divine power was growing daily and was so immense it was nearly uncontrollable.
"Has he come?"
On a rooftop somewhere in New York, Odin sat on a stone stool, calmly watching the city skyline, feeling somewhat nostalgic.
"I'm curious, why did you come to New York?" Wonder Woman stood behind Odin, looking at his stooped and aged figure, and suddenly spoke, "What here could possibly attract you?"
"Yes."
Odin responded, "You are here."
Wonder Woman frowned.
She certainly didn't think Odin was eyeing her to become his daughter-in-law.
Instead, she felt Odin comment had a deeper meaning.
"What are you really trying to say?"
Wonder Woman was getting impatient, "If you came for me, why didn't you just find me directly instead of wandering around New York for so long? Dormammu is after you, he plans to devour you… with your current state, you probably can't defeat Dormammu, can you?"
"I also wanted to find you directly, if only I could find you…"
Odin sighed, leaving Wonder Woman speechless.
Anton, without summoning Wonder Woman avatar in the Marvel world, really no one could find Wonder Woman.
"Now that you've seen me, let be direct."
Wonder Woman paused for a moment, "Odin, what do you want from me? Thor said you wandered off due to senility, but I think your mind isn't as bad as they believe."
"About the secrets of the multiverse, the chaotic timelines, I assume you're already aware," Odin said. "So, I'm hoping to get the Justice League help."
"The Justice League?" Wonder Woman was surprised, "You too are seeking help? As a god, what do you need our help with?"
"Ragnarok."
Odin explained, "After my death, Ragnarok will destroy Asgard. But since the timelines are now chaotic, Asgard has a different future... I request the Justice League intervention to preserve Asgard, allowing Thor to ascend as the king of gods."
"It seems you have a clear grasp of the future," Wonder Woman squinted her eyes.
"Don't you know as well?" Odin responded rhetorically, "The Justice League isn't originally from this world, right?"
Wonder Woman didn't respond, effectively acknowledging Odin point, then she continued, "I'm curious, where did you learn all this?"
"Because of Loki."
Odin revealed, "A Loki from another universe found me and informed me of the secrets of the multiverse and the collapse of the Sacred Timeline… Also, through the memories he showed, I saw some information from other worlds, including entertainment pieces, superhero comics, film and TV series, known as the Justice League."
This news didn't particularly disturb Wonder Woman.
Odin statements aligned perfectly with Anton original suspicions, confirming that the timeline chaos Daniel mentioned was indeed related to Loki.
"Although I didn't pay much attention to the Justice League initially, when the Justice League actually appeared on Earth, I realized that the chaos of the timelines brought not just an unknown, altered future, but a whole series of completely different changes…"
Odin slowly continued, "I even think, perhaps you were never meant to appear in this world."
World?
Odin concept of 'world' was definitely not the Marvel notion of the multiverse.
Wonder Woman understood this well.
"But I must admit, your arrival has steered this world towards a better direction…"
Seeing Wonder Woman remain silent, Odin wrinkled face broke into a smile, "This is something I couldn't achieve, nor had the power to do."
"The source of Ragnarok lies in me... as long as I live, Ragnarok will never occur. However, every life is finite, there is no true eternity in this world, in this universe... even the universe has its limits..."
Odin turned to look at Wonder Woman: "But after I die, the current Asgard won't withstand Hela onslaught. As my daughter, Hela has inherited all my once madness, no, she even more mad... Now only one person can stop her."
"Superman."
Wonder Woman knew the answer, pursed her lips, and uttered a name.
"Yes, Superman."
Odin nodded firmly: "This is a chance to change fate. The chaos in the timelines has brought us many problems but also many opportunities... This is a chance for Asgard to become something better."
"Okay."
Wonder Woman nodded: "On behalf of the Justice League, I accept your request."
It wasn't just out of respect for Odin.
Resolving the event of Ragnarok was already noted in Anton agenda.
After all, redeeming Batman ultimate armor required 100 million Justice Points.
Over time, through various events, his Justice Points had reached an astonishing 70 million.
These included the Ultron event, capturing Kaecilius, and the actions on Sakaar, where three of the Black Order were eliminated, along with the unfortunate involvement of the Grandmaster, all contributing significantly to his Justice Points.
Notably, after Tony Stark fully resolved Ultron, the system awarded 10 million Justice Points, it awarded 3 million the remaining actions on Sakaar were also rewarded with 4 million...
Ultron and Kaecilius were easy to understand.
As for the Sakaar event, eliminating three of the Black Order members besides Ebony Maw and the Grandmaster, why it contributed to his Justice Points...
Anton could only attribute it to these characters being villains in the story.
It probably belonged to the prelude events of Thanos war.
Anyway, the rewards from the Sakaar event weren't substantial, but now that Anton had a "fortune" of 70 million Justice Points, the additional 4 million was merely a drop in the bucket.
He estimated that resolving Ragnarok could add a significant amount to this figure.
Thus, regardless of whether Odin would make the request, Anton wasn't planning to miss out.
"As a token of gratitude…"
Odin smiled at Wonder Woman: "I will transfer my current divine power to you, to help strengthen your abilities..."
"This is my last gift..."
Saying this, he looked up at the sky.
Wonder Woman knew, that was the direction of Asgard.
Boom!!
Suddenly, dark clouds gathered in the sky, a rainbow of light streaking through, converging into a beam rapidly descending towards Odin and Wonder Woman.
Unsurprisingly, the person traveling via this rainbow bridge was surely Asgard crown prince, Thor.
"Father, no!!"
Thor cry of anguish echoed throughout New York.
Boom! Boom!
With the thunderous roar, the entire city of New York vibrated, countless people looking up in astonishment.
They recognized Thor.
Thanks to the Daily Bugle and various official platforms, information about Asgard wasn't a secret to the humans of Earth anymore.
But they clearly didn't know why Thor would let out such a pained cry.
Father?
Was it referring to the king of gods, Odin?
What exactly happened?
While people speculated wildly...
Thor had already reached the rooftop where Odin and Wonder Woman were.
At that moment...
Odin suddenly stood up, his stooped back straightening, his wrinkled face smoothing out, his pale hair turning golden, and his somewhat gaunt body regaining its strength.
"Father..." Thor spoke softly, his eyes brimming with tears.
He knew this was Odin last flare of brilliance, his final miracle.
"My son, it all up to you now..."
Odin spoke slowly: "You are the new king of Asgard, the king of gods."
After saying this, he turned to Wonder Woman.
"Diana, accept my gift."
As his words fell, his body suddenly burst open, transforming into countless glowing lights, a terrifying surge of divine power spreading out.
However, it did not feel threatening or fearful instead, it brought a sense of calm, reminiscent of the naive years of childhood...
This divine light swirled around Thor and Wonder Woman, eventually flowing entirely into their bodies.
"This is—"
In an office at DC Comics in Manhattan.
Anton eyes widened, filled with surprise.
