Even they believed they inherently deserved all of it—they reveled in pleasure every day, indulging in lavish, inebriated parties, leading lives of dazed hedonism. They believed such a life was rightfully theirs every single day because they were nobles, endowed with noble blood, and innately destined to stand above the masses.
However, this mindset was greatly mistaken. They shouldn't have harbored such thoughts, for they were ordinary people after all. The achievements of their forebears, forged amidst manifold sufferings, had laid the foundations for their present grandeur, but this could not be sustained forever.
