Chapter 152 - 144: What kind of world is this?

"Hello, teacher! My name is Nakano Yotsuba!"

"Is there something troubling you, Yotsuba?"

Perhaps after witnessing Hakuto's work too many times, Nao had become quite adept at handling these situations herself.

On the other side of the one-way mirror, Yotsuba finally snapped back to reality and scratched her head awkwardly.

"Hehe… actually, I don't really have any troubles. I just wanted to come in and have a look."

A carefree girl like Yotsuba, always smiling and a bit airheaded—how could she possibly have psychological troubles? It was already good enough if she wasn't troubling others!

Hearing this, Nao instinctively turned her head to glance at Hakuto behind her.

Feeling Nao's gaze, Hakuto simply shrugged indifferently.

"Why are your clients always so normal?"

"Maybe the heavens just don't like you."

"By the way, after handling so many cases, are we still doing this for free?"

"Of course not. I already told Takajo to collect the fees."

"Paying money just to satisfy curiosity… seriously…"

Hakuto silently criticized these wealthy families in his heart. Having money doesn't mean you should spend it like this!

As for Nao, since the client had already paid, she figured she should at least entertain Yotsuba for a while, even if it meant forcing the conversation.

"So, have you had anything bothering you lately?"

"Hmm… bothering me…" Hearing those words, Yotsuba instinctively fell into thought.

Because, in fact, there was something that had been on her mind lately.

"Teacher, I do have something that's been troubling me."

"Go ahead, tell me about it."

Yotsuba didn't hesitate. "Recently, my dad hired a private tutor for me, but I just don't know how to interact with him…"

The moment he heard the words "private tutor," Hakuto, standing behind Nao, instantly tensed up.

He never expected that Yotsuba's so-called trouble would actually involve him.

"Hmm? Why is that?"

"Teacher… have you ever heard of the name Shiratori Hakuto?"

At the mention of Hakuto's name, Nao once again turned to glance at him, though she didn't say anything.

"The Shiratori Hakuto you're talking about—is he the one currently on an exchange program at Hoshino Umi?"

"Oh! Right, now that I think about it, Shiratori-sensei is an exchange student at Hoshino Umi…" Yotsuba belatedly realized.

"I'm from Hoshino Umi, so of course I know him."

"Then, teacher… you won't tell him about this, will you?"

"I won't. If I do, all the boys in the student council can take turns hitting me with baseball bats!"

Hakuto & Jojiro: ???

"What does this have to do with the student council boys?"

"Because Hakuto is part of the student council."

Hearing this, Yotsuba nodded. She didn't really understand the implications, but since she had gotten a promise, she felt somewhat reassured.

"Shiratori-sensei is smart, good-looking, strong in fights, and has a decent personality… though his temper is a bit bad…"

Yotsuba listed her impressions of Hakuto one by one, completely unaware that the real Hakuto was standing less than half a meter away!

"I personally think he's just an idiot." Nao completely disagreed with Yotsuba's assessment.

Good looks?

Good grades?

Good personality? All lies!

In her eyes, Hakuto was nothing but a hardcore chibicon and a scumbag!

However, before Nao could continue speaking, Hakuto pulled her aside and sat back down in his chair.

"Huh? Stealing my seat?"

"What do you mean, stealing? This was mine in the first place." Hakuto covered the microphone and spoke to Nao behind him.

"You damn Shiratori! You've gone too far!"

"My surname is Shiratori. And also—"

Before Hakuto could finish his sentence, Nao suddenly lunged at him.

"Whoa! Can't win with hands, so now you're resorting to body attacks? You think this is basketball?"

"Mind your own business!"

Nao adjusted her position, sitting right on Hakuto's shoulders, her chin resting on top of his head.

Her legs, still in shoes, dangled lazily against his chest like she had no bones.

But her hands were tightly restrained by Hakuto's grip, making it impossible for her to move.

"Damn it, why is a chibicon like you so strong?"

"Shut up. Let me handle this case first, then I'll deal with you."

Saying this, Hakuto refocused on Yotsuba on the other side of the one-way mirror.

"So, why do you find Hakuto difficult to interact with?"

"Teacher, you probably know that Shiratori-sensei likes to fight, right…" Yotsuba whispered.

"Though, I guess you can't really call it fighting. It's more like, if he can solve things with his fists, he won't waste time talking."

"I know…" Of course I know! I AM that Shiratori Hakuto!

"I've seen him beat people up so many times that I'm honestly afraid he'll just drag me outside and punch me if I say the wrong thing…"

Hearing this, Hakuto was at a loss for words. He originally thought Yotsuba was just exaggerating, but it turned out she was genuinely afraid of getting beaten up by him!

"Maybe… the Hakuto you know wouldn't actually hurt his friends. And maybe he doesn't even like fighting that much."

From a physics perspective, force is mutual. Even if his palm always landed on other people's faces, it still hurt him too!

"No way! Shiratori-sensei fights so fiercely! He just sent a guy from the sports club to the hospital today!"

Damn! That guy passed out from rage, not because I hit him! How can you, the witness, be spreading false rumors?!

Hakuto really wanted to call her out on it! But he had to maintain his persona and not reveal himself, so he could only hold it in!
