Since they had begun traveling inland, they had encountered a lot of hostiles, most of whom were squids and octopuses.
These creatures were unsurprisingly able to traverse the land in their true forms, using their tentacles like legs. They didn't have the disadvantage most other aquatic creatures had.
Even their newly awakened could walk on land, albeit very slowly and inefficiently.
This also meant that the octopuses and squids were able to cover more ground. If this went on, they would eventually find something.
For Kael, he found them extremely annoying, especially with how they attacked him for no reason, as though he was about to steal something from them…
Well, he indeed wanted to steal something but it didn't belong to them anyway.
