Upon hearing the news, Kaos curled his lips into a smile.
"Lost your fighting spirit already? Now that's just my kind of thing."
His words puzzled everyone present. No one knew what Kaos was planning to do.
All eyes were on him as he stood up slowly.
Stussy quickly moved to the door and opened it.
Without a word, Kaos walked off the ship. After exchanging glances, the others followed him.
Soon, Kaos arrived at the coastline and stepped onto the battleship. There, he saw the massive figure of Queen standing silently.
Kaos knew very well that in the original storyline, Queen was both cunning and comical.
But what Kaos valued most in him—was his lack of courage.
Despite his bulky and intimidating exterior, Quinn was soft inside. He only looked fierce on the surface.
Now that Kaido, Jack, and King were all dead, Queen was the last remaining high-ranking officer of the Beasts Pirates.
At this point, the Beasts Pirates were just an empty shell.
No wonder Queen didn't even bother to resist. He simply let himself be captured by the Marines.
Honestly, for someone to take such a heavy blow in a single day and not go insane—that was already impressive.
As Kaos appeared on the bridge of the battleship, Queen clearly noticed him. He slowly lifted his head and looked forward.
His gaze locked onto Kaos, Esdeath, and Akainu. The moment he saw them, a flash of fear flickered in his eyes.
To Queen, these people were monsters.
Even with a bounty of over a billion, he felt utterly insignificant before them—like a mere clown.
Anyone among them could kill him effortlessly.
When Kaos saw the fear in Queen's eyes, a knowing smile formed on his lips.
Suddenly, a divine light burst from Kaos's back, and his wings unfurled as he rose into the air.
In that instant, divine light bathed the entire area.
Night turned to day.
Queen knew exactly how terrifying this godlike man was.
After all, Bullet had fallen by his hands.
Behind the calm expression was a savage force no one could see.
At least, that's what Queen believed in his heart.
Not that he'd ever dare say it out loud.
But then—Kaos flew down from the sky, directly toward him.
Queen knew—his death was near.
He closed his eyes and waited, silently hoping that Kaos would at least kill him quickly.
Seeing Queen shut his eyes and brace for death, Kaos couldn't help but laugh.
"Do you want to live—or do you want to die?"
He wasted no time. Straight to the point.
Queen opened his eyes in confusion and looked at the man standing before him.
He was utterly lost. What kind of question was that?
Wasn't it obvious? Who wouldn't want to live?
But this man—would he really let him live?
It had to be a trap. He just wanted to toy with him before the end.
The thought alone made Queen furious. Even as a prisoner, he had his pride.
There was no way he'd beg for mercy—let alone let Kaos humiliate him before killing him.
So he turned his head away without answering.
"How dare you ignore His Highness Kaos's question!"
At the front of the ship, Esdeath suddenly appeared, flashing into view as if she had teleported. Without hesitation, she struck Quinn in the face with a heavy punch.
His entire face caved in.
His head snapped back and slammed into the ground.
Esdeath stepped forward and crushed her boot onto Quinn's chest. Her eyes were as cold as death itself.
Kaos didn't stop her.
She said, voice like ice: "Answer His Highness Kaos. Do you want to live—or die?"
When Queen looked up, he saw the terrifying female devil staring down at him. Fear crept into his heart like a slow poison.
Even though he doubted he could be forgiven, he still wanted to try.
Trembling, he pushed down the fear and forced the words out:
"I… I want to live…"
Kaos heard the answer he was waiting for and floated above Queen, standing on one foot over his stomach.
"If you want to live, then become my dog. I'll give you glory, riches—you can enjoy the rest of your life."
Queen's eyes widened in disbelief.
For a moment, his mind went blank.
From beginning to end, he couldn't process what had just happened—Kaos was really letting him live?
Was this real? Or a trap?
He remained on guard.
Seeing his caution, Kaos cut to the chase.
"You're going to take Kaido's place. You'll become one of the new Four Emperors in the New World—with our support."
"Your job is to keep growing stronger—and start chaos in the New World."
"If you ever meet someone you can't defeat, come to me. I'll take care of it."
"Your only job is to make trouble."
Kaos's words left Queen completely stunned. He still couldn't wrap his mind around it.
Take Kaido's place? Start a war?
And if he couldn't win, he just had to ask Kaos for help?
What kind of madness was this?
