Miss Martian approached the mother, her green form shifting slightly as she spoke softly. "Are you and your child alright?" Her voice was calm and reassuring.
The mother, still trembling from the near-death experience, looked up at the green-skinned hero. "Yes... yes, thank you," she stammered. "You saved our lives."
"You should head to safety now," Miss Martian advised, helping the woman to her feet. "There are emergency responders just down the street who can help you."
Clutching her baby tightly, the mother nodded. "Thank you," she repeated, her voice filled with gratitude. She quickly moved away from the battle zone, her steps hurried but steady.
Haruka and Miss Martian stood facing each other amid the chaos of the robot battle. Debris and mechanical parts littered the ground around them. Haruka, still in his Kamen Rider Abyss armor, studied the green-skinned woman carefully.
"Are you... an alien?" he asked directly. "Not just a metahuman?"
Miss Martian nodded. "I'm from Mars," she confirmed simply.
"Okay…"
BOOM
Nearby, a robot was attacking Robin. Robin tumbled through the air, his cape billowing as he sought a new vantage point. The robot's massive arm had crashed down where he had been standing moments before, and the rooftop had splintered and collapsed under the immense weight.
Miss Martian's eyes narrowed. Without hesitation, she reached out with her telekinetic powers, grabbing the same robot arm that had nearly crushed the mother and child moments earlier.
With a swift, powerful motion, Miss Martian hurled the massive mechanical limb directly at the robot that had attacked Robin.
The massive robot arm that Miss Martian had thrown collided with its target, sending sparks and mechanical debris exploding across the street. The impact created a thunderous crash that momentarily silenced the urban battlefield.
But the moment of triumph was short-lived.
The remaining robots swiveled their mechanical heads, targeting Miss Martian with precise, calculated movements. Bright, searing energy beams erupted from their optical sensors, cutting through the air with deadly accuracy.
Miss Martian's inexperience became immediately apparent. While she managed to dodge several beams with quick, jerky movements, her reflexes were not yet refined enough to completely evade the onslaught. Two energy beams struck her green form, sending her spinning through the air with a cry of pain.
Haruka, watching from nearby, recognized the immediate danger. "Abyssodon!" he called out sharply. "Assist Miss Martian!"
The mechanical shark-like creature known as Abyssodon immediately responded to Haruka's command, moving swiftly to provide cover for the wounded Martian hero.
Abyssodon swiftly glided beneath Miss Martian, catching her on its metallic back. The creature moved with remarkable agility, weaving through the air and dodging the intense energy beams fired by the surrounding robots. Miss Martian, momentarily stunned, gripped the creature's sleek surface, her green skin contrasting against the silver-blue mechanical form.
Nearby, Haruka spotted an opportunity. With a powerful leap, he launched himself toward one of the towering robots. His armored boots landed precisely on the robot's mechanical arm, and he began running upward along its metallic surface. The robot attempted to shake him off, but Haruka's enhanced balance and Rider training kept him firmly in place.
As he reached the robot's shoulder, Haruka drew his Abyss Sabers - twin blades that gleamed with an otherworldly light. With a swift, precise motion, he raised the sabers and brought them down hard on the robot's neck joint. The blades cut through the thick metal with surgical precision, separating the robot's head from its body in one clean strike.
Megan steadied herself on Abyssodon's metallic back, her green skin gradually regaining its normal hue after the energy blast. She turned to the mechanical shark-like creature and placed a gentle hand on its surface. "Thanks," she said softly, her telepathic voice carrying a tone of genuine gratitude.
Abyssodon remained still, waiting for Haruka's next command. Megan, sensing an opportunity, flew towards another nearby robot. Her body began to shift and become translucent, phasing directly through the robot's outer metal shell. Inside the mechanical construct, she started removing wires and circuit connections.
The robot's movements became jerky and uncoordinated. Sparks flew from its internal systems as Megan's precise actions disrupted its core functionality. Within moments, the robot collapsed, its systems completely shut down.
Haruka watched the entire sequence with clear admiration. "Nice work," he called out, his voice carrying across the battlefield.
Megan turned, a bright smile spreading across her green features. Her eyes lit up with happiness at the praise, and she gave a small wave in Haruka's direction.
Kara soared through the air, her blonde hair whipping behind her as she expertly dodged the intense energy beams fired by the robots. Her superhuman reflexes allowed her to weave between the attacks with grace and precision. As she maneuvered, she caught sight of Haruka's interaction with Miss Martian, watching Abyssodon rescue the green-skinned hero.
A surge of frustration built within her. Without hesitation, she redirected her focus to the robot directly in front of her. With a powerful, concentrated burst of strength, Kara began pummeling the robot's metallic head. Her fists struck with such force that each blow created a resounding clang of metal against metal.
Blow after blow rained down, each strike more powerful than the last. The robot's head began to buckle and deform under her relentless assault. With a final, decisive punch, Kara tore the robot's head completely off its shoulders. The mechanical body sparked and collapsed, lifeless.
Breathing heavily, Kara turned towards Haruka, expecting recognition for her impressive takedown. She waited, a proud smile forming on her lips, anticipating his praise or at least a congratulatory glance.
But Haruka remained completely focused on Miss Martian. He was helping the green hero stabilize herself after her earlier attack, seemingly oblivious to Kara's spectacular robot destruction.
Kara's smile faltered. Her shoulders slumped, and a distinct pout formed on her face. She crossed her arms, feeling utterly ignored and unappreciated.
As the last robot collapsed, smoke and debris settled around the heroes. Haruka stepped forward, his Abyss armor gleaming in the sunlight. "Great teamwork, everyone," he said, his voice carrying genuine appreciation. "We managed to stop them without any civilian casualties."
Kara's eyes narrowed as she looked at Miss Martian, her earlier frustration bubbling to the surface. "And who exactly are you?" she asked, her tone sharp and slightly territorial.
Robin remained silent, his masked gaze fixed intently on Miss Martian. His analytical mind was already processing her appearance, her movements, calculating potential threat levels. Something about her seemed unfamiliar, and in his world, unfamiliar meant potentially dangerous.
Completely unaware of the underlying tensions, Miss Martian stepped forward with a bright, friendly smile. "Hi there! I'm M'gann M'orzz, but you can also call me Miss Martian," she said casually, giving a little wave. "I was just passing by and saw you all fighting these robots, so I thought I'd help out."
Robin stepped forward, his masked gaze scrutinizing Miss Martian. "You look familiar," he said flatly. "Do you know Martian Manhunter?"
"I'm a Martian," M'gann replied cheerfully. "I've heard about J'onn J'onzz being a hero, so I thought I'd try helping people too!"
Robin's eyes narrowed behind his mask, clearly skeptical of her explanation. His analytical mind processed her words, searching for any hint of deception.
Haruka, in contrast, approached Miss Martian with genuine appreciation. "Thank you for your help during the battle," he said, his voice warm and sincere. "Those rescue moves were impressive."
Miss Martian's face lit up with a bright, beaming smile. "You're welcome!" she chirped, her excitement palpable.
Kara watched the interaction, her mood souring with each moment. Her eyes narrowed as she observed Haruka and Miss Martian's friendly exchange, a spark of irritation growing within her. The way Haruka looked at the green-skinned hero, the casual conversation - it all seemed to grate on her nerves.
Her arms crossed tightly, and she let out a small, almost imperceptible huff of frustration.
As the dust settled from the robot battle, reporters and onlookers began flooding the scene. Cameras flashed, and excited chatter filled the air. Haruka glanced around, looking for Robin, but the young vigilante had already vanished.
"He's gone," Haruka said to Kara and Miss Martian, a hint of amusement in his voice. "Robin's really good at disappearing."
The crowd pressed closer, microphones thrust forward, eager to capture statements from the heroes. Reporters called out questions about the robot attack, but Haruka simply smiled, enjoying the moment of camaraderie with his fellow heroes amidst the chaos of the aftermath.
