Gravity Chamber (500x Earth Gravity)
The walls trembled with every blow.
Inside the reinforced gravity chamber, the roar of clashing ki echoed like distant thunder. Trunks, hair already golden and eyes sharp with focus, moved in blinding flashes, trading brutal strikes with Vegeta, whose smirk had slowly faded over the course of the battle.
Vegeta: (gritting his teeth mid-clash)"You're getting reckless, boy. You're not there yet!"
Trunks: (panting, deflecting a heavy punch)"Then maybe it's time… I push past it!"
Vegeta surged forward, elbowing Trunks in the gut and sending him crashing into the gravity chamber wall, cracking the reinforced plating. Trunks dropped to one knee, his golden aura flickering and sputtering.
Vegeta: (crossing his arms, unimpressed)"Hmph. This again. You throw yourself at a wall thinking brute force will carry you through. Super Saiyan 2 is your limit."
Trunks: (gritting his teeth)"No… it's not…"
He stood slowly, hands clenched at his sides. Sweat dripped from his brow, but his resolve burned hotter than ever. For weeks, he'd been knocking at the door — always close, but never quite there. Goten's power echoed in his mind, and the pride of a Saiyan prince screamed in his blood.
Trunks: (shouting)"I won't be in his shadow anymore!!"
The gravity chamber trembled. His aura flared upward in jagged arcs of lightning. Muscles tensed. Hair spiked further.
Vegeta's eyes widened slightly — a rare flicker of surprise.
Vegeta:"…Heh."
Then—
BOOM!
A shockwave exploded from Trunks' body, rattling the entire ship. Alarms triggered. Lights flickered. A golden pillar of energy shot toward the ceiling, forcing even Vegeta to step back.
When the light faded, Trunks stood transformed.
Long, spiked golden hair flowed down his back. His brow was more pronounced, and his aura raged like a hurricane of lightning and fire.
Super Saiyan 3 Trunks.
Trunks: (voice deeper, fierce)"…This is it."
Vegeta: (a low smirk returning)"So… you finally did it. Don't think I'll go easy now."
They clashed again — this time, Trunks was faster.
Vegeta threw a right hook.
Blocked.
A left knee.
Countered.
Trunks vanished and reappeared behind him — a clean elbow to the back that sent Vegeta staggering. Then came a volley of fists, each blow landing true, battering Vegeta with precise power.
For the first time in the fight… Vegeta was on the back foot.
He pushed back hard, firing a Final Flash — Trunks met it with his own wave of burning gold, and the beams collided in a roaring stalemate before exploding apart.
In the smoke, Trunks appeared — one last spinning kick catching Vegeta clean across the jaw, sending him to the floor.
Silence.
Trunks: (landing, panting heavily)"…I did it."
Vegeta sat up, rubbing his chin — a slow, satisfied grin on his face.
Vegeta: (chuckling)"Hah. Took you long enough."
Trunks: (smiling)"You're not mad?"
Vegeta:"You beat me. I don't hand out praise like Kakarot... but you earned it."
He stood, brushing off dust.
Vegeta: (turning to leave)"Rest while you can. Now the real training begins."
Later – Sparring Arena Observation Deck
The rest of the Z Fighters watched a playback of the battle on a holographic monitor.
Piccolo: (impressed) "He really did it."
Krillin: (shaking his head) "Okay, seriously, what are these kids eating?"
Tien: "Determination. And legacy."
Goku: (smiling wide)"Nice work, Trunks that form is no joke."
He closed his eyes for a moment, sensing something faint and far away… A power rising. Unfamiliar.
Goku smiles ready to meet whoever's power this is in the next three months from now.
Gohan, legs folded, brow knit in concentration. His breath was steady, but sweat clung to his skin.
Piccolo stood behind him, arms crossed.
Piccolo:"Stop trying to force it. You don't unlock your potential by chasing power. You command it by understanding yourself."
Goku, leaning casually against the wall, smiled.
Goku:"Come on, Gohan. I know it's in there. We've seen what you're capable of. Time to stop holding back."
Gohan clenched his fists, trembling slightly. His mind flashed through past battles: Cell… Buu… his failures and victories… the fear of losing… the guilt of slowing down.
Gohan: (quietly)"I've relied on rage too many times. I don't want to go back to that…"
Piccolo: (firmly)"You don't need rage. You need resolve. When you fought Cell, your heart knew what had to be done. That's what brought it out. Not fury — purpose."
A long silence followed.
Then—BOOM.
A deep pulse of energy erupted from Gohan's body. The candles extinguished, the chamber walls shook gently. His aura lit up — not golden, but silver-white. Not explosive — but sharp. Controlled. Defined.
His hair remained black, but his power spiked dramatically.
Gohan (Ultimate Form):"…I can feel it again."
Piccolo: (smirking)"There it is."
As Piccolo fly's up to where Krillin and Tien are to watch the spar between Father and Son.
Goku: (grinning)"Alright! Now we're talkin'!"
Gohan stood opposite Goku, who went into Super Saiyan 3, long golden hair flowing behind him, aura flaring with raw power.
Goku: (grinning)"Let's see what this power of yours can do now."
Gohan: (smirking)"Try to keep up, Dad."
Without warning, they clashed.
Fist met fist in a shockwave that cracked the chamber floor. Their movements were barely visible — each blow creating sonic booms that rattled the hull of the ship. Goku's SSJ3 strength was monstrous, but Gohan's newfound calm gave him edge in precision and counters.
Goku: (thinking mid-battle)"He's… matching me?!"
Gohan landed a clean elbow to Goku's ribs, followed by a spinning kick that nearly knocked him into the wall. Goku backflipped, landing hard and skidding to a stop.
Gohan: (breathing evenly)"You've gotten a little predictable, Dad."
Goku: (laughing)"Predictable, huh? Okay. Let's go all out then."
He roared — SSJ3 aura burning hotter, lightning crackling around him. He vanished and reappeared behind Gohan, launching a brutal combo. Gohan dodged most, but caught a knee to the stomach and a hammer fist to the back that drove him into the floor.
He pushed himself up — slower now, bruised — but smiling.
Gohan: (panting)"You're still faster…"
Goku: (landing, huffing)"Barely. You hit harder now."
They charged again — fists colliding mid-air. The final exchange was a blur — two warriors trading blows at speeds even the other Z Fighters watching could barely follow.
In the end—
Goku landed one last powerful right hook.
Gohan flew back, skidding across the floor, breathing hard — finally still.
Goku dropped to one knee himself, barely upright, drenched in sweat.
Goku: (between breaths)"…You almost had me. One more second, and that kick would've dropped me."
Gohan: (sitting up, smiling)"Yeah… but almost isn't enough."
Goku: (grinning)"That's my boy."
Piccolo, Krillin, and Tien watched from the upper deck.
Krillin:"Okay, what's in the water on this ship? Gohan's back in his prime, Trunks just hit SSJ3, and Goku's nearly spent after one fight."
Tien:"They're pushing themselves harder than ever. The stakes are higher."
Piccolo: (nodding slowly)"And they'll need to be ready. We're not just chasing Dragon Balls. We're flying straight into the unknown."
