Wushuang and Ghost Face squeezed through the small ventilation opening; the duct was extremely cramped, Wushuang felt uncomfortable, and for the big-framed Ghost Face, it was even worse. As they crawled past, they happened to go by the outside of the secret chamber, where more than thirty fully armed men were assembled, with a middle-aged gentleman standing in the middle. If Wushuang guessed correctly, he must be the Duke—news sure traveled fast.
They must have encountered something inside, or left something behind when they went in that was discovered, which was why the Duke was alerted. The vent could lead to the rooftop or to the third floor, but the rooftop was definitely out of the question now.
If the Duke had discovered them, there would certainly be snipers on all five castles. If they climbed to the rooftop, they would become targets, so Wushuang headed toward the third floor along the ventilation shaft.
