"And Momo, Uraraka, Asui?!" Kyoka exclaimed in surprise.
In front of Kaminari and the others stood a group of people—not only three researchers in white lab coats and glasses but also Kaminari's parents, Tobio, and Momo.
"Huh? Why are you here?" Kaminari's mother asked in confusion.
"Well…"
Kaminari had no choice but to explain that Melissa had introduced him.
"This is Dr. Augsger, the scientist you were looking for. He successfully broke through the original metal compression technology two years ago!" Momo gently raised her hand and introduced the chief scientist standing in the middle—a relatively young man.
"Hello, my name is Kaminari Denki. Like Momo and the others, I'm also a student in U.A. High School's Hero Course. This is my girlfriend, Kyoka. We're all classmates." Kaminari stepped forward and greeted him politely.
To his surprise, Dr. Augsger suddenly grabbed his hands, his eyes filled with excitement.
"Hello, hello! I never expected to meet so many Pokémon trainers today, this is fantastic!"
Not just him, the other two scientists also had the same enthusiastic expression. They weren't much different from the fans Kaminari had encountered earlier, though they were slightly more composed and rational.
Five minutes later, everyone had become more familiar with each other, and they finally got to discussing business. Kaminari let out a sigh of relief—after all, being bombarded with fan questions from three scientists had been overwhelming.
Especially when Dr. Augsger complained about why Dr. Oak's image in Pokémon was based on Dr. Pegasus, despite clearly not being as impressive as himself!
Kaminari could only respond awkwardly, saying that at the time, the only scientist he knew was Dr. Tenma.
To appease them, Kaminari promised that if future scientists were introduced, he would make sure the three of them were included.
With that, everyone was satisfied.
"Kaminari-kun, you, your parents, and your girlfriend should stay here for two more days. Once I finish my current work, I'll upgrade your battle suit's compression function!" Dr. Augsger said with a smile.
"But our invitation only allows us to stay for three days," Kaminari replied.
"That's easy—leave it to me!" Dr. Augsger said confidently, as if such a minor issue was a trivial matter.
"What about Momo and Dad?"
After handling his own situation, Kaminari turned to ask about the others. Meanwhile, Kyoka, Uraraka, Asui, and Pikachu stepped aside to chat.
Kaminari's father and Momo exchanged glances before his father gestured for her to speak first.
"My story is a bit long. You go ahead," he said.
"Alright, Uncle," Momo nodded politely before turning to Kaminari, who looked curious.
"Kaminari, do you remember the day you gave me Athena's Holy Cloth?"
Kaminari raised his chin in thought, then nodded after a moment. "Yeah, I remember. What about it?"
"That day, I told you I was preparing a gift for Kyoka. Two days later, you sent me a temporary Pokémon design, saying you wanted Kyoka to have a special Pokémon."
"Did I? Wait… could it be—" Kaminari looked at Momo in shock.
"That's right!"
Momo elegantly tucked her hair behind her ear and then called out to the others.
"Kyoka, come here."
"Hmm?"
Kyoka, Uraraka, and Asui walked over in confusion. At the same time, Momo looked at the scientist standing to the left of Dr. Augsger.
"Please."
The scientist adjusted his glasses and smiled. "It's been ready for a while!"
With that, a short, white robot rolled forward, carrying a tray. On the tray was a unique-looking Poké Ball—its body was purple with black lines, and a small yellow button sat at its center.
"What's this?" Kyoka and the others peered at it curiously.
Momo glanced at Kaminari with a smile before turning back to Kyoka.
"This is the gift Kaminari asked me to prepare for you—a Pokémon of your own!"
Kaminari was momentarily stunned but quickly understood when he noticed Uraraka and Asui watching.
If Momo had explicitly stated that this was a personal gift just for Kyoka, it would have led to some awkward questions from the other two. This way, the situation was much smoother.
"Really, Kaminari?!"
"Yeah, I wanted you to have a Pokémon companion. Plus, I could tell how much you like Pikachu," Kaminari said softly, looking into Kyoka's eyes with a gentle smile.
"Thank you… thank you…"
Kyoka was deeply moved.
Their sweet moment was enough to make everyone—except Kaminari's parents—feel secondhand embarrassment. Momo had to step in to break the atmosphere.
"Kyoka, go ahead and release it!"
"Release?" Kyoka looked at the Poké Ball in surprise. "Wait… did they actually create real Poké Balls and Pokémon?"
"Not exactly, it just looks like one. And as for the Pokémon… of course, it's not a real creature," the scientist on Dr. Augsger's right explained with a chuckle.
"Just press the yellow button in the center and throw it!" Momo instructed.
"Isn't that literally how a Poké Ball works…?" Kaminari thought to himself.
Still feeling confused, Kyoka picked up the purple-and-black Poké Ball.
When she pressed the button, a familiar mechanical sound rang out. The button lit up with a bright yellow glow, and then she tossed the ball into the air.
The next moment, a purple light shot out from the Poké Ball. Kaminari immediately recognized the effect—it was the same transformation glow Pikachu emitted when changing forms.
Dr. Tenma had once explained that the light was actually just a cover to conceal the process of structural transformation.
So rather than a Pokémon emerging from the Poké Ball, the Poké Ball itself became a Pokémon.
The purple light quickly faded, revealing a bat-like Pokémon with a pinkish-purple body and large ears, flapping its wings as it hovered in the air.
"This doesn't look like a Zubat or a Golbat. What is it?"
Kyoka, Uraraka, and Asui were puzzled. They watched Pokémon regularly, but they had never seen this one before.
"It's called Noibat. It has Flying and Dragon attributes. Its evolved form is called Noivern, but I don't think it can evolve. I specifically designed it for Kyoka!" Kaminari explained.
He then turned to Momo and asked, "The transformation just now—was that also made using SIS Memory Alloy?"
"Yes," Momo confirmed.
Dr. Augsger sighed in amazement. "As expected of the Yaoyorozu family's heiress. Giving away eight kilograms of SIS Memory Alloy as a gift, how extravagant!"
Although eight kilograms wasn't much, its market value outside I-Island was exorbitant.
Kaminari's golden eyebrows twitched at that remark.
He clearly remembered that the Yaoyorozu family's entire stock of SIS Memory Alloy had already been used to create Vulpix.
Even if they had acquired more, considering how valuable the material was, there was no way the adults in Momo's family would agree to give it away as a gift.
So where did Momo's SIS Memory Alloy come from?
(To be continued.)
