Chapter 305 - Chapter 304: Godzilla and Popularity

After disembarking from the plane, everyone proceeded to the immigration inspection area at the airport. However, unlike other airports, the process here was fully automated.

There were no personnel manually checking passports, no long lines. Travelers simply stood on the moving walkway, and an advanced AI system scanned them as they passed through.

"Tobio, don't run off, okay? We have three days here. There's plenty of time to see and do everything!" Kaminari's mother said gently, holding Tobio's hand.

"I got it, Auntie!" Tobio nodded obediently.

Still, he looked around in wonder, eyes sparkling with excitement. Every now and then, though, he cast a slightly disappointed glance at Kaminari's hero costume. He had just witnessed Pikachu transform into a Japanese outfit, and apparently, his hero costume wasn't as flashy in comparison.

[I-EXPO, an event showcasing various research and development achievements, is currently taking place on I-Island. If you have an invitation, please be sure to visit the venue.]

"Whoa, WHOA, WHOA!!"

Tetsutetsu, Kirishima, and the others were the first to step out of the airport and were immediately overwhelmed by the breathtaking scenery of I-Island.

How could they even describe it? Gorgeous? Spectacular?

Lush green parks stretched across the landscape, amusement facilities shone with bright lights, and the streets were so clean it was almost unnatural.

The sky was filled with floating technology—vehicles, robots, and creatures. Everything looked advanced and futuristic.

In the distance, an enormous fountain sculpture shaped like an ocean wave towered above the horizon, glistening under the sunlight.

It was like stepping into a completely different world.

Then—

"Wait… is that—?" Kaminari's eyes widened.

"Zapdos?!"

Kyoka gasped. "Moltres?!"

Tobio's mouth dropped open. "Articuno!!"

Not only that, but Kaminari's parents, Bakugo, and the others also spotted an Arcanine casually strolling around with three Growlithes by its side.

Strangely, none of the nearby tourists seemed particularly surprised.

"...So, this is a thing here?" Kirishima muttered.

"Wow," Kaminari's father said, looking around approvingly. "I knew I-Island was advanced, but I didn't expect it to be this impressive."

"Wait." Kaminari turned to him, confused. "Dad, you knew about this?"

"Of course." His father chuckled. "I-Island had to get our company's authorization first before implementing this."

"You mean, this whole Pokémon thing?"

"Exactly," his father confirmed. "And not just here, there's more."

Seeing the kids' curiosity, he smirked. "I won't spoil anything. You'll just have to see it all for yourselves."

Kyoka, still staring at the Charizard flying overhead, tilted her head. "Wait… so none of these Pokémon are real?"

"Nope. They're all high-quality holograms," Kaminari's father explained. "But as you can see, they look completely real."

As they made their way toward their hotel, Kaminari glanced at his father.

"I didn't realize our company was partnering with I-Island."

"They reached out to us, actually," his father explained. "Apparently, a lot of the researchers here are huge Pokémon fans. They wanted to create a city where Pokémon felt real—a place where people could live alongside them."

"This is just the pilot project for what they're calling 'Pokémon City.' If it works out, they plan to expand it to Japan and eventually the rest of the world."

Before long, everyone arrived at the hotel. As expected, Kaminari and Kyoka had separate rooms.

"Alright," Kaminari's mother said, gently pushing Tobio forward. "We'll take Tobio sightseeing for a bit. You kids go have fun. Just make sure to be back by six o'clock!"

With that, she smiled and waved them off.

The moment they stepped outside, Kaminari took Kyoka's hand and grinned.

"Alright—free time!"

"Wait—Bakugo!"

Without a word, Bakugo turned and stormed off. He clearly didn't feel like being around Kaminari and Kyoka's very obvious couple energy.

Kirishima, laughing, quickly followed after him.

"Geez," Tetsutetsu sighed, shaking his head. "You really prioritize your girlfriend over your bros, huh?"

Kaminari simply smirked, dragging Kyoka along. "Yeah, yeah. You go with the others."

Tetsutetsu rolled his eyes but walked off to join the rest of the group.

With just the two of them left, Kaminari and Kyoka strolled leisurely through the island before stopping at an amusement ride.

It was a Ferris wheel-like attraction, except instead of regular cabins, they sat inside translucent spheres designed to resemble Poké Balls.

Once their sphere floated high into the sky, they got a breathtaking aerial view of the island.

"This place… it's beautiful," Kyoka murmured, gazing out the window.

"Yeah," Kaminari agreed, mesmerized. Just outside their sphere, a Rayquaza slithered through the sky, its emerald-green body reflecting the sunlight.

Even though they knew it was a hologram, the level of detail was unbelievable.

The flames on Moltres' wings flickered realistically. Articuno's icy trail sparkled in the air. Zapdos' body crackled with golden electricity.

It was a dream brought to life.

"If things were always like this, I wouldn't mind living here forever," Kyoka said with a smile.

Kaminari pulled her into his arms, resting his chin against her shoulder.

Kyoka's face flushed red, but since it was just the two of them, she didn't protest.

For a long while, they simply sat there, Kyoka holding Pikachu, Kaminari holding Kyoka, enjoying the peace.

"...But who knows?" Kaminari eventually said. "If the Pokémon City project works, we might get to see something like this everywhere."

Just then, Kyoka pointed outside.

"Look! Monster Hero Godzilla!"

Kaminari blinked.

"...I see him. But why is he here?"

There—towering over the island—was a massive Godzilla-like figure, standing nearly at the same height as their floating sphere.

"Godzilla is a pro hero?" Kaminari muttered, feeling a headache coming on. "This world makes no sense sometimes."

"...Also, is he wearing the Hokage's Robe?"

Kyoka squinted. "...Wait. Yeah, he is! What the hell?!"

Kaminari let out a deep sigh.

"Okay, now I'm convinced. We're living in an anime crossover universe."

Once their ride ended, Kaminari and Kyoka stepped out, only to be immediately met with a sudden wave of screaming fans.

"AAAAHHHHH!! IT'S DENKI!!"

"IT'S REALLY HIM!!!"

"AND KYOKA, TOO!! THAT'S PIKACHU IN HER ARMS!!"

"OH MY GOD, I'M GONNA DIE!!!"

Kaminari and Kyoka exchanged helpless glances.

Apparently, they had severely underestimated the popularity of Pokémon on this island.

Kyoka shot Kaminari an unimpressed look. "This is all your fault."

"Hey, you're the one who agreed to be drawn as a character in my manga."

Before Kyoka could respond, another wave of screaming erupted from the opposite direction.

"AAAAAHHHH—IT'S ALL MIGHT!!!"

"NO.1 HERO!! THE SYMBOL OF PEACE!!!"

Kaminari turned toward the new commotion.

"Oh, great. Now things are really getting out of control."
