Medeia narrowed her eyes and spoke hesitantly. "The thing hiding beneath us … is it some kind of worm?"
She still couldn't understand why the system detected something called the King of Worms when she hadn't seen even a trace of a giant worm anywhere.
Tian didn't answer right away. Instead, he urged them to leave. "Come on, let's talk somewhere else. This place is suffocating."
He wasn't wrong.
Ever since that huge hole appeared, Medeia had felt a strange pressure on her chest, like something heavy was sitting there, making it harder to breathe.
Lucian nodded in agreement. "He's right. We need to get out of here before the others waiting for us start to worry and come looking."
No one objected, so they all began heading out.
Medeia and Lucian walked at the very back of the group. She seemed hesitant to leave so soon, as if she were waiting for something to crawl out of that dark, endless pit.
