Sampson only noticed Rosemary when the two girls turned around. He hadn't realized that one of them was the girl he'd met at the diner—the one who bore a striking resemblance to his sister.
Before Sampson could say anything else, Angela quickly apologized in a hushed tone,
"I'm sorry, Sampson. I just had a little falling out with Kelly. I wanted to put her in her place. I usually treat the patrons of the club with respect."
Upon hearing the name Kelly, Sampson couldn't help but picture Rosemary's face.
"Don't bother them anymore."
"Do you know them?" Angela was surprisingly upset. She hadn't expected Kelly—that infuriating hussy—to have so many connections, even Sampson standing up for her.
"Do you remember when you threw a tantrum and your father cut off your allowance for three months?"
"Sampson, these are my friends. Why are you bringing this up?" Angela turned a bit red, clearly embarrassed.
"You're grown up now. Pick your battles wisely."
"Yes, I will heed your advice."
