Noe hovered over the simmering pot, before opening his hand and dropping a large quantity of powder into the simple stew of root vegetables he had stolen from a nearby market.
Whilst he stirred the powder into their stew he began to softly hum a low tune to himself, and his mother raised her head, with a hint of recognition in her listless gaze.
She recognised the tune as something that he used to hum to himself on the days after he had snuck Lee Ha-Joon into his room.
She had kept these instances from her husband, but the maids had informed her each time that he had gone against his father's orders, continuing to bring the commoner into their home for his own amusement.
Erika had thought that this was all it was, another act of rebelliousness, or a simple act of defiance against his father.
