As he drifted off to sleep, Ron would listen to the distant sounds of his family's gentle murmurs, the creaks of the old cottage and the soft hooting of the owls outside.
On the other hand things were not looking so good for our other protagonist.
Harry Potter other wise known as the boy-who-lived was born on July 31,1980, in Godric's Hollow, West Country, England.
He was born to James Potter and Lily Potter (née Evans). His father was a pureblood and his mother was a muggle-born resulting him in being a half-blood.
Harry's Early Life was not bad.
His parents loved him and they were very caring towards him.
Harry was born during the height of the wizarding war, which began in 1970. It was being fought between Lord Voldermort's Death Eaters and the Order Of The Phoenix.
His parents, James and Lily Potter, were also members of the Order Of The Phoenix. They along with some close friends of theirs Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew fought against the dark forces.
Many had lost their lives in this war, and it was during this time a prophecy was made.
A prophecy which could decide the tide of the war.
"The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies...".
This had raised the Dark Lord's concerns.
The prophecy, made by Sybill Trelawney, foretold the coming of a child with the power to defeat him.
Not wanting to take a risk Voldemort sought to eliminate the child, thinking of him as a possible threat to him and his plans.
But there was one problem.
There were two children who were born during the end of the seventh month that is July. They were Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom.
He had long thought about who the child in the prophecy might me.
But failing to find out the correct one he decided to go for the half-blood, since he thought that people with pure blood were of more value.
Due to these factors he had thought to kill the Potters' infant son, believing him to be the chosen one destined to defeat him.
He really wanted to kill the threat to his plans, but the only thing stopping him from doing so was the fact that Harry's parents were also aware of this prophecy and had gone into hiding.
He tried to find them, but no matter how much he tried he failed.
Finally he had gotten his hands on Peter Pettigrew the one who knew about the Potter's hiding place as he had been entrusted to be the secret keeper of their location.
Peter had betrayed them and told Voldemort about the Potter's locaion.
On October 31, 1981, Voldemort discovered the Potters' location and attacked their home. James and Lily Potter sacrificed themselves to protect their son, and Voldemort's death curse rebounded, leaving Harry with a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead. The curse also disfigured Voldemort's body, rendering him nearly powerless.
Voldemort had finally been defeated.
The wizarding world was filled with joy. But the same could not be said with little Harry as he had became a orphan with no one else to take care of him.
After the attack, Sirius in fit of a rage had "killed" Peter. The others thinking Sirius was the one who had betrayed the Potters and killed Peter caught him and he was sent to Ajkaban without a trial.
His parents were already dead and now with his Godfather dead too he had no one.
With no other choice, Harry was left at the doorstep of his Muggle relatives, the Dursleys, in Little Whinging, Surrey.
The Dursleys took Harry in out of obligation, but they did not truly care for his well-being.
Vernon Dursley, Petunia Dursley, and their son Dudley lived at Number Four, Privet Drive. The Dursleys reluctantly took Harry in.
They had always hated "Harry's kind" as they thought of them as freaks.
They always treated him poorly and made him sleep in the cupboard under the stairs.
Privet Drive, 1985
Harry lived with the Dursleys, experiencing a difficult and lonely childhood. He was often bullied by Dudley and his friends, and the Dursleys made him feel unwelcome.
The Dursley's frequently belittled Harry, making him feel inferior and unwanted.
They spoiled and pampered their own son, Dudley who was the same age as Harry, while treating Harry poorly.
Harry's experiences with the Dursleys left him feeling unworthy and unsure of himself.
As a young child, Harry exhibited signs of his magical heritage. He would sometimes experience strange and unexplainable events, such as talking to snakes or having unusual occurrences happen around him.
However, the Dursleys attributed these events to Harry's imagination or misbehavior.
Harry's early life lacked the love and nurturing that a child typically receives from their parents.
The Dursleys' treatment of Harry was cold and distant, leaving him feeling unloved and unwanted. This had caused Harry to become an introvert.
As Harry grew older, this magical incidents started to become more and more. He also had realized that he was somewhat different.
July 31, 1991
Harry was sleeping on the floor of the little shack his uncle Vernon had brought them into. His uncle was tired of the letters they had been receiving.
So he thought that staying in this little shack in the middle of the sea would stop them.
"One minute to go and he would be eleven" Harry thought.
Just then "BOOM'.
The whole shack shivered and Harry sat bolt upright, staring at the door. Someone was outside, knocking to come in.
The door was hit open and a giant of a man was standing in the doorway.
Harry was awestruck but little did he know that today was the day he would discover his true identity and the magical world that awaited him.
