It was almost 2 p.m., and people's stomachs were starting to grumble. Hence, Kev drove the group to their regular meal spot in Drewry, The Victorias.
The diner was of the more opulent side of things, looking particularly luxurious. And of course, the prices of their meals were just as expensive.
'$47 for a full-course meal… and it's just steak and sauce for the main dish.' Nick's eyebrows twitched in annoyance. He gently closed the menu and kept it back on the table.
"What? Have you made your pick?" Paulie asked, seeing Nick's expression.
Nick smiled lightly and lied, "I just realized I'm not that hungry, even."
"Or you saw the prices and said nope?" Kev nudged Nick with his elbow and laughed, eliciting the same reactions from Paulie and Cole.
Kev grabbed Nick's shoulder and shook him like they were already best buds. "The food here's free for us. Don't worry about the cost. It's one of the perks of the job."
