Chapter 262 - 262. Injured a Lot

Speaking of the trees cut down for the construction of the logging farm, Jason Liu originally planned to pay the Stark family for them.

However, the manager told him that Mrs. Caitlin specially allowed him to have the trees for the construction of the logging yard for free, and the logs more than 30 centimeters cut down by the logging yard in the future would be counted as payment!

Well, he understood. Maybe Ed and Caitlin also felt that they could collect money even while lying down, and they felt a little uneasy about receiving money so comfortably, so they gave him all the wood he needed to build a logging site for free.

Perhaps it was also because of the gifts he gave. After all, the two carriages, several sets of lighting equipment, and many other treasures were also expensive!

The Stark family got so much benefit that it was nothing to send some wood for free.

Jason Liu thought so in his heart at the time, but he politely expressed his thanks.

Now he was about to open the logging farm and start cutting down trees and pulling logs. This meant he needed to inform Winterfell to send someone.

Just send a few people to stand outside the warehouse to record the size and quantity of logs that are shipped in, and that would be fine.

Jason Liu and Mrs. Caitlin had negotiated before, and it would be settled once a month.

Logs from 30 cm to 50 cm, each with 1 silver deer, and each over 50 cm with 2 silver deer.

Everyone was making money!

In the evening, Jon and the others finally paid out the wages of the 2,000 workers, and Jason instructed the hands of the logging farm to start cutting down trees and storing logs in the warehouse.

"Only cut trees with a diameter of more than 30 cm, and then transport the logs from which the branches were cut into the warehouse. Don't worry too much, try to slow down as much as possible. After all, those workers have not yet mastered the use of gasoline saws."

Jason Liu was also helpless. At the dinner table just now, he had heard Boris say that recently, some workers had accidentally cut their arms, thighs, and even some fingers were cut off due to the use of gasoline saws.

So many people were injured all of a sudden, some people lost half of their hands. Boris still had some lingering fears about this. "It's really tragic. If he hadn't stopped the bleeding in time, I'm afraid the farmer whose palm was cut off would have died."

Jason Liu listened to Boris's description of the injuries these people suffered from gasoline saws. Jason Liu couldn't help but pale, and he couldn't eat dinner.

After all, even in modern times, loggers were often cut by gasoline saws, not to mention these northerners who had never touched gasoline saws before.

"Treat the wounded and let their families take good care of them. Um, and give each of the seriously injured workers an extra month's salary.

As for the one who had half of his palm cut off, let him do some easy work after he recovers.

Let him recuperate well, and don't worry about being fired!"

That's all Jason Liu thought he could do.

"Yes, my lord! They must be very grateful to know that you have cared so kindly for them!" McCann said with a moved face.

Everyone else in the room nodded in agreement—Mr. Jason was so kind and generous!

Jason Liu was not in the mood to listen to their praise. Today, he had personally ordered the execution of one person, and then heard that dozens of workers were injured. His original relaxed mood was completely gone.

At night, he did not stay at the sawmill.

After arranging for some people to begin working and cutting down trees, Jason Liu got on a carriage under Jon, Bud, McCain, and Dicken's escort, and returned to the castle in the town.

Lena was glad Jason didn't stay in the poor lumber mill environment. The little girl and Bella together helped Jason Liu take off his cloak and coat, serving him and preparing a hot bath.

Of course, Jason Liu rejected such a thing. A man could wash himself.

Lena disappointedly pouted her mouth, but looking at Jason's insistent eyes, she had to take Bella out of the room.

Lena winked at Kent and joked, which attracted Bella's disapproving look.

Chris and Rubin also smiled with muzzled grins. It was clear they thought Lena, this beautiful girl, always wanted to become Jason's maid, but Jason would not agree.

We do not know why, but every time they saw Lena's dissatisfaction at being sent out of the room when Jason took a bath, they all felt a little amused.

Dicken poorly understood women's thoughts, but he also understood something. He and Kent had similar impressions—their lord didn't despise those of civilian background, and Lena was definitely the most beautiful in the castle.

They certainly wouldn't say such things nor dare to ask. They felt it was normal. After all, Jason was a noble Earl . What beautiful girl from the empire had he not seen? Why would he fancy a country girl?

Although this girl was quite beautiful!

However, given that while Jason and Lena weren't closer, he had entrusted the castle and shops to Lena's responsibility—that trust was very significant!

So, in the castle, Lena's civilian status was no worse than those low-ranking knights of Jason's.

They might joke with Kent or laugh a little, but they wouldn't go too far.

Jason Liu rested for the night here. The next day he would return to his modern villa.

Jon was in charge of a few people at the sawmill. It would take some time to save enough logs for a group. The Eastbourne shop had no big business for the time being; Lena and the others could generally cope with it.

He had just come back for the Mid-Autumn Festival. The last time he promised his mom he would go back—such an important thing certainly could not be forgotten.

Lin Xiaohan had made an appointment with him today to buy a gift together. As a girlfriend, Lin Xiaohan felt that even though she didn't come along with Jason Liu often, she should buy a gift for his parents as his girlfriend.

Both strolled around International Trade in the morning, basically buying the same gifts as last time—clothes and shoes for Liu's father and mother.

For the Mid-Autumn Festival, moon cakes were certainly not to be forgotten.

Then, Lin Xiaohan picked up some nutritional supplements for the elderly to eat.

Jason Liu opened his mouth to say these so-called supplements were simply a gimmick with no effect, advising her not to buy them.

But looking at his girlfriend , he could only honestly shut up.

Although he constantly criticized the tax on these things, Liu's father and mother never bought them.
