Ariel was stunned. After being married for so long, this was the first time Rhysand had confessed his love to her. Her heart felt like it was flying into the clouds, and her happiness was impossible to describe. She felt like she turned into water all over.
"So, don't say things like that anymore. Even if it's a joke, I don't want to hear you say you want to marry someone else," Rhysand said.
Ariel came back to her senses, nodded, then blushed and kicked him lightly. "Put me down."
His tall body almost pushed her whole self onto the platform, and their bodies were way too close. The faint smell of cold pine from his shirt mixed with his warm breath, making her heart beat faster and faster.
But Rhysand didn't move. He looked at her cleaning uniform and asked, "Where's your dress? Why are you wearing the cleaning uniform again?"
Ariel got surprised, thinking maybe he heard from his friends that Lucius gave her a dress. She quickly explained, "I changed out of the dress."
