Early the next morning, George and Li Xiaolang boarded a plane bound for Tokyo.

On the plane, Li Xiaolang looked at George beside him and spoke with a firm tone:

"Don't worry, Great-Grandfather. This time, I will definitely collect all of the Clow Cards on behalf of the Li family. I won't bring shame to our clan!"

"Very good, you've got spirit. But there's no need to put too much pressure on yourself. It's great if you can collect them, but if you can't, that's fine too.

Xiaolang, you're the most gifted child the Li family has seen in years. Even without the Clow Cards, you'll become one of the greatest magicians on your own. One day, you'll lead the family to glory!"

George patted Li Xiaolang on the shoulder, not seeming overly concerned.

The Clow Cards rightfully belonged to Sakura. That had been Clow Reed's decision from long ago. No matter how hard Xiaolang tried, it wouldn't change that.

But it didn't matter. Eventually, Xiaolang would marry Sakura. Then Sakura would become part of the Li family—its future matriarch. And naturally, the Clow Cards would belong to the Li family as well.

That was actually a better outcome—not only would they gain the Clow Cards, but also Sakura, who had inherited Clow Reed's magical power. It would be a win-win.

That's why George wasn't particularly worried about whether Xiaolang collected the Clow Cards. The real goal was making sure he got the girl.

Since he was the Li family's patriarch in this world, of course he had to consider the family's long-term future and hope for its prosperity.

"But Mother said that once we're in Tokyo, I must find a way to collect all the Clow Cards."

A trace of hesitation appeared in Li Xiaolang's eyes, but he quickly steadied himself and declared:

"Great-Grandfather, I know you're trying to comfort me, but no matter how difficult it gets, I won't give up!"

George chuckled:

"Some things are enough as long as you've done your best."

He didn't press the issue further. Right now, Li Xiaolang was fully focused on collecting the Clow Cards. But once he met Sakura, his priorities would shift on their own—no need to interfere.

Until then, George's focus was on mastering the Li family's Daoist arts stored in Li Xuan's memories.

Clow Reed's Clow Cards incorporated a great deal of knowledge from Eastern magical systems. To fully decode the magical principles behind them, it made sense to start with the Li family's own Daoist arts.

Once he had thoroughly internalized those teachings, he'd naturally be able to understand the Clow Cards.

Otherwise, even if he got his hands on them, he wouldn't know where to start. What was he supposed to do—have the cards turn into pretty girls and give them physical exams?

Four hours later, the plane landed in Tokyo. The moment they exited the airport, the local head of the Li family's company picked them up.

Secretly, the Li family was the number one Daoist clan in Huaguo. But publicly, they operated as a large multinational corporation with branches all over the world.

In fact, almost every major Daoist or magical family had its own front-facing enterprise. These companies were established specifically to serve the family's needs, and they were typically managed by family members who lacked spiritual aptitude.

For such families, making money was absurdly easy.

Any moderately skilled practitioner could use their magical abilities to help with business in ways that made enormous profits.

Even beyond those powerful families, individual magicians who wanted wealth were rarely ever short on money.

Unlike superpowered individuals in the Marvel Universe—who often only had one ability and might struggle if it wasn't profitable—magicians had a wide range of skills. Unless they chose to turn to crime, they generally lived far above the average person.

But magicians are different. They follow a complete system of cultivation and learn a wide range of spells, which makes it easy for them to earn money.

Even just the basics—divination, fortune-telling, wealth predictions, and feng shui—are more than enough if properly applied.

Don't be fooled by the wizards in the Harry Potter world all seeming poor. That's only because the International Statute of Secrecy restricts them from using their powers to profit in the Muggle world.

Otherwise, even the weakest wizard could thrive easily in human society.

Just take the simplest Mending Charm that a first-year student learns—if someone used that in junk collection, they could become a recycling tycoon overnight and easily hit a major financial goal.

An hour later, George and Li Xiaolang arrived in Tomoeda Town.

Though Tomoeda was classified as a town, its proximity to Tokyo meant it was actually quite expansive, and its development across various sectors was impressive. It even had its own aquarium.

It was early June, just the beginning of summer, and the weather wasn't too hot yet.

"Great-Grandfather, this is the residence arranged for you in this town. All the furniture and appliances have been replaced with the latest models."

The company's local representative in Tokyo, Li Qingshan, parked in front of a villa, then led George and Xiaolang on a brief tour, introducing them to the area. Finally, he said:

"The school Xiaolang will be transferring to is Tomoeda Elementary. I've completed all the paperwork—you just need to take him there tomorrow."

"Alright, I understand. Thank you for your hard work, Qingshan."

George nodded warmly.

Li Qingshan immediately responded with respectful formality:

"You're too kind, Great-Grandfather. Given your age, you must take good care of your health. If there's anything you need, contact me right away."

As a collateral branch member, he had been tested at birth and found to lack spiritual talent. Since then, he had focused on his studies and eventually took charge of managing the family's business. He had been based in Tokyo for years and wasn't aware of the recent happenings back at the main household.

He only knew that the kind-hearted elder of the clan—who had been around since he was a child—had passed away. He'd been saddened at the time, never expecting to now see the elder alive and personally accompanying Xiaolang to Tokyo.

Still, he thought, even if the Great-Grandfather had somehow survived, he was still in his nineties and needed to be extra careful with his health.

But after saying that, he suddenly felt something was off.

Looking more closely at the elder—his tall, upright frame, wrinkle-free and rosy complexion, thick white hair, and the way he carried several dozen pounds of luggage without the slightest strain…

Then he looked at himself—his bulging beer belly, thinning hair, and panting heavily after walking just one round through the villa.

He suddenly realized he was the one who should be watching his health.

"Qingshan, even if you're busy with business, you should still find time to exercise. Though you may not have the talent for cultivation, you can still practice the family's martial arts—it's great for maintaining health."

George chuckled and pointed at Li Qingshan's head.

"Hair Growth Spell!"

Li Qingshan's sparse hair immediately grew thick and full.

"Thank you, Great-Grandfather! I understand now!"

"Wow! Great-Grandfather, you're amazing! I didn't know there was a spell for growing hair!"

Li Xiaolang stood wide-eyed in amazement. He had never seen such a spell in the family's Daoist scrolls.

After Li Qingshan left, George and Li Xiaolang officially moved into the villa.

That very night, an eager Li Xiaolang changed into his Daoist robe, took out the special compass Clow Reed had left the Li family, and began chanting a spell to search for the Clow Cards.

"By the Jade Emperor's decree, I summon the divine inkstone to the four corners. Wood, Metal, Water, Fire, Earth—Thunder and Wind—thunder and lightning heed my command. Rotate with the flash of storm and strike—by divine law, go forth!"
