Yu Tu pressed himself against the wall behind, his right hand gripping a grenade and his left hand holding a knife in reverse. Listening to the footsteps getting closer outside, he took a deep breath.
A few minutes later, the door was pushed open from the outside. The first thing to come into view was the tip of a blade, then the rest of the long knife, followed by the two wrists holding it.
From the direction of the person holding the knife, it seemed like the person searching the room first looked toward the bed and the window.
A good opportunity. Yu Tu no longer hesitated. He swiftly darted out from behind the door, kicking the person in the waist. His left hand drove the knife straight toward the person's head.
The other person's combat experience was clearly far superior to Yu Tu's. After being kicked in the waist, his peripheral vision seemed to catch sight of the gleaming knife, and he immediately sprinted a couple of steps forward and then swung his knife behind him, trying to create some distance and buy himself time to react.
However, this opened the door slightly, and this was exactly what Yu Tu wanted!
The opponent's knife strike was a little too high, and as he swung the blade, Yu Tu quickly crouched down, dodging the blade and taking control of the doorway.
Taking advantage of this, the opponent didn't have time to turn back. Yu Tu threw the grenade in his hand into the room, then slammed the door shut and hid behind the wall.
"Boom!"
A massive explosion shook the surroundings, and Yu Tu could feel his heartbeat racing in sync with the blast. A wave of satisfaction flooded his mind, making him uncontrollably burst into laughter.
"Ah—ah—hahaha, that felt so good!"
Now, Yu Tu finally understood why the villains in TV shows would laugh maniacally while doing bad things—it was truly so exhilarating!
But soon, Yu Tu's laughter turned awkward.
Just a short distance down the hallway, two people were standing. One was a monk in a monk's robe holding a short cudgel, with a red name tag on his chest: Wuxiang.
The other was a young girl holding a long rifle, seemingly a shotgun. She also had a blood-red name tag on her chest: Nangong Miaomiao.
It was fine to laugh maniacally, but when you're doing it freely and suddenly there are people staring at you with piercing eyes, it feels a bit embarrassing.
The situation became a bit awkward for a moment!
Yu Tu put away his knife and pulled out another grenade from his pocket, pulling the pin and holding it tightly in his hand. Then, he cheerfully looked at the two:
"Hello, Wuxiang Monk, Nangong Loli~"
Nangong Miaomiao widened her eyes, seemingly very interested in the grenade Yu Tu was holding:
"Tie Zhu? What the hell kind of name is that! But bro, do you have any more grenades? Can you lend me a couple to play with?"
Wuxiang Monk frowned as he stared at the grenade in Yu Tu's hand:
"Benefactor, don't be too excited. Blindly killing people in this game isn't good! We mean no harm!"
Before Yu Tu could answer, a loud curse came from the room: "I'll kill you!"
They're still not dead?
Yu Tu quickly ran a few steps toward the monk to get away from the door.
The door was pushed open, and a man dressed in black came rushing out, holding a long knife with both hands. He seemed to have another short knife strapped to his waist, and his chest had the red word "Criminal!"
The criminal didn't look too good at the moment. His black clothes were torn, and his left arm was bleeding, suggesting that he had been injured.
When Yu Tu saw the criminal charge out, he pretended to throw the grenade:
"Fire in the hole!"
"Damn!"
The criminal immediately retreated back into the room. After a while, though, there was no explosion, and the criminal realized he had been tricked.
"Hahaha!"
Seeing the criminal's reaction, Yu Tu burst into laughter!
Nangong Miaomiao stared wide-eyed at the grenade in Yu Tu's hand, licking her lips. Her hands holding the shotgun were trembling with excitement!
Just as it seemed another fight might break out, Wuxiang Monk stepped forward:
"Criminal, don't get too excited. Tie Zhu doesn't know the rules of this game. We should talk first."
After Wuxiang Monk spoke, the criminal came out of the room. His anger seemed to have dissipated considerably.
"I say, Tie Zhu, are you crazy? Do you know the rules of this game? You just start fighting when you meet someone?"
Yu Tu shrugged nonchalantly: "I heard the gunshots, and you came into the room with a knife, so killing people probably isn't a big deal!"
Wuxiang sighed and pointed downstairs: "This round is not about randomly killing people. Did you see the seven black cages and one red cage downstairs? This game is about intelligence!"
From Yu Tu's position, he could just about see the black cages downstairs but not the rules. Wuxiang was clearly trying to deceive him!
Yu Tu glanced in the direction Wuxiang pointed and instinctively asked, "Aren't there eight black cages? Why are you lying, Monk?"
But actually, from Yu Tu's viewpoint, the second cage on the left was red!
Wuxiang was displeased by Yu Tu's foul language, and his brows furrowed involuntarily: "Benefactor, everything in the world has cause and effect; every action has its consequence. If you curse someone's mother, they will curse your mother, and both will suffer. Please watch your words."
Yu Tu didn't quite understand at first, but after a few moments, he realized Wuxiang was referring to his "Damn" and "F*** you."
Upon realizing, Yu Tu bent down in laughter: "Hahaha, what the hell, you monk! I don't have a mother! So I won't lose out!"
Wuxiang and the criminal exchanged a glance, both of them thinking that this person named Tie Zhu was probably mentally ill.
The criminal didn't want to argue with Yu Tu, who seemed like a madman, and put his knife back: "Tie Zhu, put the grenade away. You can't just kill people in this round of the game."
Yu Tu pointed at the two corpses lying on the first floor: "You think I'm blind? You think I didn't see that?"
"Go check the rules on the first floor. The more people you kill, the lower your chances of survival," said the criminal.
Yu Tu looked at the three of them and saw that the criminal had put his knife away. Nangong Miaomiao had also put her shotgun behind her. She seemed to be more inclined to believe him now. Yu Tu looked at the grenade in his hand.
Nangong Miaomiao, who had been eyeing the grenade, suddenly got excited and asked, "The pin's already pulled. Are you throwing it?"
Yu Tu eagerly nodded: "Yes! You tell me, where should we throw it?"
Nangong Miaomiao rubbed her hands together: "If you don't mind, let's throw it together?"
"Sure, together!"
Nangong Miaomiao immediately walked over, placing her hand over Yu Tu's, seemingly feeling the texture of the grenade.
Then, she pointed toward the first floor. Yu Tu understood what she meant, and together, they moved to the railing. They then tossed the grenade down to the first floor.
The moment they threw the grenade, Yu Tu immediately knocked Nangong Miaomiao down, pinning her under him.
He had to solidify his image as a lecherous, brainless idiot. He had to use his earlier conversation with Wuxiang to confirm that he wasn't some prophet.
At first, Nangong Miaomiao didn't realize what was happening. She tilted her head, waiting for the explosion.
"Boom!"
The massive explosion erupted, and Nangong Miaomiao, just like Yu Tu, laughed with excitement. When she turned around, she saw Yu Tu's face close to hers.
Yu Tu grinned devilishly and placed his hand on her chest. Damn, it really was a mountain peak. The moment Nangong Miaomiao turned her head, Yu Tu took the opportunity to kiss her.
Then, Yu Tu felt a tremendous force at his waist. Although it didn't throw him off completely, he immediately got up and laughed as he quickly retreated:
"Haha, not bad, you've got some moves! But I'm curious, does the name 'Miaomiao' live up to its reputation?"
Nangong Miaomiao was furious and pulled out the shotgun from behind her.
"Click!"
The shotgun was cocked.
It wasn't that Nangong Miaomiao was overly concerned about Yu Tu's actions, but at this point, anyone who showed weakness would die first. It was clear that a few more battles were coming.
Yu Tu wasn't polite either, pulling out another grenade and pulling the pin.
"Damn, Tie Zhu, do you lack motherly love?"
Yu Tu grinned and responded, "Yeah, I told you, I don't have a mother. Naturally, I lack love. What? You want to be my mom? Well, Mom, I'm hungry, and I see you have plenty of food there! Feed me some?"
Nangong Miaomiao raised the shotgun, pointing it at Yu Tu. Yu Tu raised his hand, holding the grenade.
Wuxiang shook his head and once again tried to mediate: "Amitabha, forget it; let's go to the first floor."
Nangong Miaomiao's chest heaved as she struggled for a long time before finally lowering the shotgun.
It wasn't that she was afraid of Yu Tu's grenade—she knew it wouldn't kill her. The real issue was that her remaining bullets were few, and the shotgun was her most valuable life-saving weapon. Wasting bullets on killing a lunatic like Yu Tu, who might not even die from it, clearly wasn't worth it.
Yu Tu looked at the grenade in his hand, frowning, as if contemplating where to throw it.
Wuxiang sighed: "Sigh, with that kind of grenade, if you put the pin back in, it won't explode."
Yu Tu looked at the old monk in confusion. Wuxiang held up both hands and walked over. He took the grenade from Yu Tu, put the pin back in, and handed it back to him.
Yu Tu let go, and the grenade didn't explode. He burst into laughter:
"Haha, Wuxiang Monk, your mom must be really smart; that's why you're so damn clever!"
Wuxiang was irritated, took a deep breath, and muttered a prayer, no longer wanting to argue with Yu Tu.
Seeing that everyone had calmed down, Yu Tu shook the grenade in his hand:
"I'm going downstairs. You all better stay away from me. I'm scared—"
