Justin's bar is the closest bar to the police department, and officers liked to have a drink here when they were off duty. The place was already familiar, and now it didn't seem to be a problem to host a retirement party there.

Jimmy hung up the phone and only went upstairs after finishing his cigarette. It was a good thing that James was retiring; he and Tom had discussed this before but had never mentioned it to James. Now that he had considered retirement on his own, it was fine; at least he would not have to be so busy, as people must accept aging.
Jimmy thought for a moment but didn't call back directly. If no one had informed him, it would be too embarrassing to call back himself. Better wait; perhaps they had not set a time yet.
