She smiled sweetly. "Because I gave him kisses."
Gray's hands twitched.
Her blue eyes sparkled as she leaned forward. Close enough for him to smell her shampoo. Close enough to feel her heat.
"You want my attention, human doll?"
She raised her brows. "Then take it. Or are you going to lose to a cat?"
He stepped forward without a second thought, caging her between his arms and the door. His voice dropped into a growl.
"Keep pushing me, Lily and I'll make sure you don't even remember what a cat is."
She leaned in, close to his ear.
"Prove it."
And just like that, the temperature in the room changed.
His eyes dropped again to her lips—soft, full, still damp from the shower and something in him snapped. He couldn't stop now, didn't want to.
His hand moved up, fingers sliding behind her neck, holding her gently but firmly as he leaned in, brushing his lips against hers. It wasn't rushed. It was a slow pull, like gravity drawing him into the only place he felt alive.
